The next step will be discussions between the League and the clubs as to when to start the 2020-21 season.
And as we all know, clubs in L1 / L2 get the vast majority of their income from ticket sales. And if crowds aren't going to be allowed in any significant numbers until after Christmas at the earliest, I can't see how they will be afford to play half a season (or more behind closed doors).
I have every sympathy with those clubs, but yesterday's decision has opened the door to 2020-21 being a complete mess - with the Prem starting only a handful of weeks late, the Champ likewise, but L1 and L2 months behind. | |
