Having watched the Netflix mini series on Epstein I am now clearly an expert....
However, I would assert that he had enough dirt on enough important people to be dangerous to them. The circumstances of his incarceration and death are such that most logical thinking individuals could conclude it is possible that he could have been assisted on his departure from this mortal coil.
I don't mean that the circumstances were set up specifically for him, more that existing failings made it easier to get to him. Issues with cameras, dispute of interpretation of autopsy findings etc.
The stuff about Krischer and Acosta is horrendous for the notion of impartial law and order.
Who was the last big name to have some sort on RF, and how did it end for them?

Again I would ask you to consider agenda setting, who decides what is meritorious? To say you shouldn't push for perfection and accept falling short is an attitude I just can't get behind. It's one I challenge all the time in my job.
You can't cite social consensus earlier in this thread in terms of the status quo then deny it when it comes to change. Who decides? We decide. That's a social thread going back to the polis' and tyrannies of Greece.
It's more than possible to have a system where elect representatives who are responsible for policy and held to account for who they listen to ,what they do and how it affects society.
We deserve and should demand better, that's why for all its faults BLM vs. blm in the eyes of the population and the reductive nonsense being spewed to counter it show we can do better and have big hurdles to overcome still. |  |

Thanks, a good response to points I was worried I had made too forcibly. I still think that Britain could carry on as a constitutional monarchy in the way that Denmark and The Netherlands do - provided we ditched first-past-the-post for proportional representation. But the sense of entitlement that comes with grace and favour systems (and this applies to papal appointments, old boy and old girl networks too) is divisive and ultimately makes the state weaker. However, I think it can be controlled provided it gets a fair share of deflationary criticism and this is where your counter view is very important, in my opinion. | |
