Calm your tiddays mate. Nobody is obsessing. Just having a bit of a laugh at the misfortunes of another club!

I was hoping to laugh at Villa. 1981 and all that.

Trailing vapour since 1999.

They have been up and down all season. But that has no bearing or relevance to the fact that a bad decision was made, which made a difference...

It was probably the run of 19 defeats in 25 games that did it, rather than that decision. They were really bad until the last four games.

With their budget and size of club, brilliant to get there and fair play for staying as long as they did. The manager has worked wonders in his time with them. Nothing but admiration for the club.

Mate, they went up with the sort of budget that would buy Derby 7th place for at least five years.

I'm one of the people who was blamed for getting Paul Cook sacked. PM for the full post.

Such a silly argument. Despite a poor run, they would have survived but for the bizarre var non decision.

But they only have themselves to blame. I could you show you probably two or three clips where decisions like that went in their favour with VAR and they didn’t get penalties awarded against them. They should never have let themselves get in that position, but they assumed they were too good to go down.

1) It was a goal line technology failure, not VAR

2) The non-goal was in the 42nd minute of the match. Had a goal been given then the rest of that game would have played out differently - you can’t just decide that the game would have finished 1-0

3) Similarly, a different result in that game would make the dynamics of the next games different (eg. Villa would have known after 60 mins today that they needed to win rather than draw). So again those results may have differed

4) It was 10 games ago FFS

5) There are 38 games in a season, all of which will contain officiating errors. Getting hung up on one, rather than Bournemouth’s inability to win games for most of the season until facing teams with nothing to play for, is hilarious

6) Bournemouth got 34 points

Another silly argument. How could you know that they 'assumed they were too good to go down'?
