Not a good time for a footballer to be out of contract is it?

Funny how circumstances like these can change the direction of a whole career / life. Not saying Southend would've kept him, but I would think a league club might have taken a punt ordinarily, had it not been for Covid. Once out of the professional game it's not easy to get back in. Perhaps he's not open to relocating in favour of league football, which would somewhat limit his options.

It would be a real sticking plaster and a bit of a gamble.

I expect to see him turn out for a local non league team in the not too distant future.

I've heard what RA has offered him and it really is staggeringly low, even in this market.

I thought you might have heard about this from your post.

It's sad, he's actually better than that in my opinion, but what can you do?!

I think the injuries have played a big part in putting off other professional clubs, you'd think someone like Colchester, Stevenage, Northampton or MK Dons would be interested in a player that has made so many Championship appearances.

I saw him walking into B&M at Warren Heath a couple of days ago

Not sure if this is an indication of how far he has fallen ...

Been offered a contract at Exeter from what I’ve been told.

Bit of a dilemma there, a job at Exeter or a job at Warren Heath
