Corrie Ndaba on 18:47 - Aug 22 by itfcjoe | No Ndaba didn’t play, was on the bench a few times but didn’t play a minute. At Hemel Hempstead he played 45 mins before getting the hook and not seen again. The Chelmsford loan cost him the chance to go elsewhere, possibly Ayr, due to the clubs rule. He was impressive today, especially on the ball and with his confidence and willingness to put himself into positions where he knew and trusted himself to pick it up in pressurised positions. |
If he didn't play for Chelmsford that wouldn't make a difference, would it? Trying to remember the precise rule for future reference!

Corrie Ndaba on 19:46 - Aug 22 by Libero | All the best to you, buh! When shall I expect my subsidiary cheques to star arriving? I’m always skeptical of those delivery companies, am I right in assuming they essentially just send you a recipe and ingredients? I can’t Imagine going full veggie, while I don’t think meat is needed with every meal I know I’d really miss it if I removed it entirely. TIB has been challenging himself recently to have a meat free month, seen lots of posts of nice looking grub on Instagram from the old boy. |
Yeah, it's recipe and ingredients, and I was as skeptical as you (which is why I resisted longer than I should have done). But it's actually really good and I'm not sure why I resisted. Less trips to the supermarket, much less food waste, really tasty meals, and all veggie for us so far. Lockdown gives us time to cook (occasionally we say feck it and order a Deliveroo out of laziness) but generally the experience with Hello Fresh has been great. We take it in turns to cook, and I take way longer than the suggested time, but I feel like I've achieved something, and I'm re-listening to all the Ricky Gervais podcasts while I'm doing it, so it's actually fun. When I'm actually in the office it might be different but for now it works really well.

He was on the bench so maybe it’s a case of being in the squad

Just checked and it's this: "Players may be registered with a maximum of three clubs during one season. During this period, the player is only eligible to play official matches for two clubs."

Corrie Ndaba on 16:58 - Aug 22 by Libero | He’s got a lot to prove, those that watch him regularly doubt he has what it takes to play centre back, he’s also had some very unsuccessful loan spells at non league clubs. I’d be surprised if he makes the grade, but it’s promising to hear he impressed today. |
I’m not sure that’s necessarily the case. He does sometimes lack a little bit of concentration, switches off from time to time, but he’s young. He has some very good attributes, the left footed balance, he’s quick for a CB, strong boy. I have seen suggestions of a left back been murmured, but I don’t see that one myself. He’s had a few kind, but really just to play men’s football, Hemel Hempstead and Chelmsford City. Unfortunately his loan move Ayr United fell through which would have been important for him. He’s had a good start to pre season, long may it continue.

Corrie Ndaba on 17:53 - Aug 22 by Libero | Indeed, very possible. As I say, he’s got it all to prove. Even if you put aside the fact he was sent home early from both of his non league loan spells, people who watch the Academy teams regularly have commented that he’s not developed in the last year or so. There was an illuminating comment from Joe about his future prospects here, few weeks ago. I’m sure if someone is so inclined they can search his name on the site and find it without too much difficulty. Here’s hoping he’s done a 180 and is going to be this seasons wild card. |
Hasn’t the issue with Ndaba been related how he has been conducting himsel, rather than his footballing abilliy? Must say that I’ve been massively impressed with him in both preseason games. Today he was mighty, maybe one who excels against better teams. Would be lovely if he blossoms during the season, as his salary and squad inclusion are not limited by the cap.

He hasn't had a good loan spell yet, that's a worry - by same point Woolfie had had a half season at Bromley in National League and full season at Swindon. He's had 2 failed spells at National League South - he needs to get a loan spell under his belt where he can make his mark

Personally I think he has the ability (Mick can spot that right?) but he has developed slower than hoped physically. If he had filled out like a Matt Clarke he would be a starter but he is still a little bit wiry and this is why I think he struggles for a place lower down the football pyramid.

Sounds good, but what's stopping you once you've got the recipes just buying the ingredients at a much cheaper price from the supermarket? I notice you dodged the subject of financial remuneration for my assistance in providing content... Ah, I've listened to all of those to death. I could probably repeat a lot of them word for word, as I can many Simpsons episodes and episodes of the Office and various other properties burnt into my minds eye. New series of the Mandalorian in October, buh. Should be a trailer out in the next couple of weeks.

I think you'd do well to buy the same ingredients at the right quantities and for cheaper. Our first week (5 meals, two servings per meal) was £16.80. Now without the introductory offer it's still only £27.29 - for 10 dinners! Certain things come in small packets you simply wouldn't get in a supermarket (i.e. tomato paste you'd need to buy a tube of it in a supermarket, they don't sell it in little packets). Re your renumeration, given it's 17 words ("Libero: “The non alcoholic version of Ghost Ship is the finest non alcoholic beer I've ever tried”) out of almost 124,000, shall we say 3p? I have also listened to the Ricky podcasts to death (I'm including all their Radio XFM shows too) but they still make me laugh. I actually discovered their original Radio XFM show on youtube, before they'd even met Karl or written The Office, which was pretty good too. I think I've done 4 or 5 episodes of The Mandalorian. Very good. I'll have to get on with finishing that.

If that's the case, fair enough! I've always assumed that's how they make their money by marking up the items when sold all together. Nice that it's working for you though! 3 pence? My god, is that the going rate? If that's the case I'm quitting being your new content provider and will be going back to playing cowbell/triangle on my mates computer games soundtracks just to get a little something, something from the PRS. You sorted a publisher, or are you going to be one of those straight to Kindle jobbies? Yup, XFM shows included over here too. I've also listened to those you mention on YouTube, old but gold. Weird really, when you think that when they started the podcast version there was very few podcasts out there, now everyone and their dog has a podcast about something, surprised you have ventured into that format yet, yourself!

Ha, not sure what I'd talk about. I like Off Menu as well (comedians Ed Gamble and James Acaster talking food) and Richard Herring's one, but like you say, there's so many podcasts now I hardly know where to start. Haven't sorted a publisher yet. Got some feedback from a mate who's read it that I need to give a bit more detail about the characters (have to remember I know these people, the reader generally won't, so I need to flesh them out a bit more). Just got myself the latest issue of the Writers' & Artists' Yearbook which has an up-to-date list of all the agents and publishers, and been working on a cover letter for it too, so still a bit to do.

I went through a phase of listening weekly to Herrings RHLSTP, but it started to wear thin. I really enjoyed all the Louis Theroux lockdown one's on BBC Sounds, would highly recommend. More than once he had a guest I wasn't particularly interested in, but Theroux made it interesting, teasing the story out and plucking pathos like grapes from the vine. Interesting, I've no idea how that industry works at all, but wish you the best! I'm assuming you're back drinking again now? In moderation?

In answer to your last question, it's complicated! Me and the missus had a big old session on Friday night, which was fun at the time, but knocked us out for the weekend. I'm just wondering if it's worth it and thinking I might go back to sobriety. It's not helping me get the book finished either, ironically!
