Nolan - all the TWTD experts slating him before... 08:18 - Sep 20 with 5207 views | OsborneOneNil | Delighted he’s in the form he’s in. I’ve constantly backed him, and suggested some on here have no clue about football. Probably as he was a Hurst signing... Good man, Nolan.

Nolan - all the TWTD experts slating him before... on 15:57 - Sep 21 by OsborneOneNil | Thanks, BryanPlug. My post wasn't meant to be divisive, just a recognition to back up my long term view that Nolan is a player. He's been disappointing, at times, but by no means rubbish as most suggest. As a Town fan, I hope this continues and he is crowned Player of the Year in a promotion winning team. |
How was it not meant to be divisive? I think even Nolan's biggest critics on here have been because they can see Nolan has all the attributes required but hadn't been able to affect games, especially last season

Nolan - all the TWTD experts slating him before... on 12:54 - Sep 20 by The_Romford_Blue | He’s taking us up this year. He just is. I’m making the bold prediction right now that the League 1 Player of the Year award goes to him and he becomes known across Britain as The Ginger Messi. |
glad to see you enjoying being a town fan again rommers. i hope you see better days at porman rd. as you only ever known us as a average side

Most of his critics haven’t been as kind as that, Joe.

Nolan - all the TWTD experts slating him before... on 17:54 - Sep 20 by BlueBadger | He's playing under Paul Lambert. It's a lack of fans. |
A little churlish. I think there will be a group of posters who will fail to give any credit to Paul Lambert regardless of whether or not he does a good job this year and manages to turn things from last year. It’s such a shame that posters won’t give Lambert any credit in the present because they’ve built such an extreme judgement on him from the past.

It seems to be if you give an honest opinion on something or someone and it goes against the view of the usual suspects, then it has no validity, which is a bit harsh, as it's an opinion. I've been hammered over the past 2 years for my views on Skuse, but I stick by them. He's a lovely bloke and may become a great coach, but, the number of games you see him play and he brings absolutely zip to the game is frightening. Laboured, one paced, safe, no drive. It sets the team up to play in a way that doesn't excite. You can have a CDM in your side, as most now do, and that player can still bring things to the party. Dictate the play with pace, turn it up a notch. Fizz a forward pass into the strikers feet..... Others opinion is that he is/was vital to the team. Reads the game like no other. Protects our defence like a warrior. Most interceptions in European football (or something like that). And that is also fine, I respect that opinion. I don't then have a pop at that person for thinking that way. I've backed Nolan, against the grain, and now we see what he can do. And I, for one, am delighted. Long may it continue.

As with the player in the OP, Lambert gets no credit at the moment because he's spent even longer than the past 2 years being crap. Frankly, the fact that Marcus Evans had to tell him to stop d1cking about with squad rotation should be grounds enough to get him sacked.

I think where people like you and I go wrong when assessing PL's time at ITFC is we do not see the bigger picture. We see finishing 24th in The Championship and getting relegated without a fight as a failure but it would seem that it was not. Also finishing mid table in the third division with possibly/probably the best squad in the division we see as a failure but again it would seem that it was not. To be fair if we had got one more point in 2018/19 we would have finished 23rd so when assessing his time here so far as a failure we should take such things into account.

Well you started with the silly unnecessary sniping over a post that wasn't even about you ad didn't mention you in any way. If you wanted a decent discussion maybe you should have behaved with a little more maturity? Just a thought. You misread my first post and launched in didn't you? Your response doesn't make any sense. It's OK, accidents happen. [Post edited 22 Sep 2020 15:58]
