I have been contacted by an anonymous source who claims that none other than Adrian Chiles uttered the phrase “Colin Healy made Cesc Fabregas look like Colin Healy” during ITV’s coverage.
I’ve scoured YouTube but cannot find it.
Is anyone who is savvier than me able to locate it/a transcript?

Before you ask:
1) I've Googled it. It brings up my signature. 2) I can't find it in the search history. 3) I asked Phil in a thread. He ignored me, just because there was a match on. 4) It wasn't me, but I will claim it if no-one owns up.

Nah. It was definitely a few days after the game. In my head I’ve started to think it was Glassers, but surely he would have claimed it?
I really can’t believe that Phil/Gav can’t search somehow. I’ll pay.
Not what you want to hear, but I had a VHS cassette recording of the complete 1st leg from start to finish. Had loads of similar recordings dating back to the mid 80’s.
Finally chucked the lot in February last year. The old video player I had somehow nursed along since Radio Rentals said I could keep it, finally died in 2015 and they’d just sat in a box for years.
Virtually certain it was Adrian Chiles who said it and it got repeated on TWTD for weeks, particularly once Cesc made his rugby comment.
Seem to recall the Ipswich fans serenaded him with a chorus of ‘Swing low, sweet chariot’ in the 2nd leg.
Either way, the observation was both clever and amusing.
100% not something Glassers would have come up with.

Not to pour water on the Chiles thing, but I think the League Cup was on sky and bbc at that point in time and according to wiki Chiles left for ITV in 2010.

He might have been in the bogs behind the press area and the BBC mikes could have picked it up? He likes a good session of stentorian Brummie football philosophising when trying to have a dump, does our Adrian - helps move all those pies with curry sauce out the back and down the M5 to Dudley.

Agree, it's also possible ITV had highlights which he fronted.
