Dozzell especially has been a regular for England youth team at all levels, now finally playing regularly and arguably producing some of his best football, but doesn't get a look in for U20/U21 - presumably because he's now playing league one football?
Don't get me wrong, I know there's some serious talent (Especially in that U21 squad), but can still imagine it must be frustrating for the lads!

For me, the England U19 & U20 matches are a complete waste of time as usually, the better players with the bigger clubs shun these squads but take over the U21 level, which is clearly a sensible step up to full international level. |  |

That's not true with the 19s, but the 20s is just generally a way of trying to keep people in the system and generally a mish mash of a squad - 17s, 19s and 21s are the main age groups. |  |

Good for us - he can stay and play for us instead of extra matches away with England. I am sure he would love to play for them but playing regularly and well for us is the most important thing for him right now.
I wonder how many full England internationals never played U21s and how many U21s never play full England matches. |  |
