It’s not really a question of “If” now on 20:25 - Oct 15 by bluejacko
Scotland to rejoin the EU would cause them mega border problems. At least theROI has some ferry routes to Spain and I think the south of France but Scotland has one ferry a week that goes to Norway. Their goods would have to come through England with all the tariffs etc that would be due. Good luck with that!
I don't think there are any ferries between Norway and the UK these days.

Your quite right! 3 sailings each way each week from Rosyth to Zeebrugge that really is not going to cover the amount of freight that would need to travel through England.

Grangemouth gets 7 feeder vessels calling each week.
I think more will go via ship than road in the event of Scottish independence.

There are also other ports in Scotland.
There can only be so much that can go by container most freight is by road and roll on roll off ferries. The only ports with that capacity is Rosyth and Cairnryan which serves Belfast and Larne. Apart from Grangemouth what other ports have the resources to unload all these feeder container ships. More to the point what company will invest in these facilities to be built to do such a thing?
