5 wins and a draw on 17:45 - Oct 17 by TheBoyBlue | The only thing bar injuries that should stop this team going up is mismanagement and that placing of the front three was mismanagement. He musn't try to be clever like last season. |
Hard to forget that at one point last season Ipswich were the only undefeated team in the top four leagues. Hopefully Lambert, and the players who were equally culpable, won’t make the same mistakes again.

To be fair, he played..... on 17:36 - Oct 17 by Dyland | It's simple Fixers. Even I could see where they were playing to begin with was not right and they should be played as per the change. And I really don't know much. That is why I remain very skeptical of Lambert, notwithstanding our start to this campaign, and contrary to Fishers trolling our performances and how we try and play IS a lot better than last season where we were winning but looked disjointed most of the time. So fair play to Lambert on the consistency but he has fook all credit in the bank. Let's see how we get on. COYFB |
No no no, this isn't right. A TWTD poster admitting they don't know much?

I know a little more than some of my numpty mates and family I (used to) go to PR with, but this is still p1ss all. It seems I sometimes know as much as Lambert seems to though Sammy boy ;)

5 wins and a draw on 12:03 - Oct 18 with 445 views | baxterbasics | What I've seen this year (mostly highlights) things look a lot better on the pitch than last year, where I always felt we were sort of riding our luck and knew it was going to go wrong. I feel much more optimistic this season (though still with a healthy dose of caution).

5 wins and a draw on 09:09 - Oct 18 by Barneycurley | So true, in the grand scheme of things a provincial town in East Anglia have no god given right to be in any league. We as much as I hate to say it live of our past sometimes |
I never said that we have a God given right. Just that I think we have one of the best - if not the best - squad in this division, as we did last season. If managed properly (unlike last season) and they play consistently at their best (again unlike last season), then they should go up. However, as Lambert showed yesterday - which was really the point of my post - you can quite easy nullify that ability by trying to smart-arsed about positioning and the like. There's no Judge should've been playing down the middle when we had Sears, which was obvious to everyone apart from Lambert beforehand and unsurprisingly obvious in the first half and even more so when they were swapped round.

Lets be honest, lots of the issues did stem from PL and his managerial approach and random selections last season, but thankfully that has settled down. However, the players weren't exempt from criticism either and now quite a few of them are actually playing to their potential too and delivering, which they certainly didn't during the last campaign.

Entirely agree. Someone else said that whilst we were winning games at this point last season we seemed to be riding our luck, whereas this season we winning deservedly and in the main playing well, with the players playing to their full potential. If they keep that up and Lambert isn't tempted to try to be clever, we should - barring a catastrophic injury crisis which as we know is a distinct possibility at this club - be alright this seasson.

5 wins and a draw on 12:58 - Oct 18 with 393 views | Kropotkin123 | "5 wins and a draw" That's all well and good, but our home form is worse that newly promoted Plymouth and our away form is on a par with AFC Wimbledon. What's more is after six games we've conceded 100% more goals than our promotion rivals Sunderland. Furthermore we have a clear an unaddressed second half issue. 100% of our goals against have been in the first third of the second half. What is going on in those half-time team talks? But on a serious note, 6 games isn't enough to absolve him of the last year nor is it enough to give him a free ride on mistakes. It is however a very encouraging start to the season and certainly more convincing than last season in the manner and conviction of our play.
