11 games in, with a break from the league.
I think 3rd. We have strength in depth and Hawkins has solved some of our issues up front, I don't see any sides better player for player than ours when fully fit. Just think we may bottle it against fellow promotion rivals. Still not fully convinced with lambert.
For me, Peterborough and Charlton will go up automatically. Maybe Sunderland instead of Posh, but no one else.

We would finish now in 5th on ppg. However, I am not sure why the season is finishing now.
I predict that we will finish 8th if all continues to the end of the season and that is because I currently feel pessimistic that we cannot get it right against the better sides and we will not continue to win virtually all of our games against lower sides.
I hope I am wrong. I think 3rd-6th still represents failure, although if it resulted in promotion via the play-offs I would accept it. My bigger fear is if we were to get promoted, what are our chances of staying up again? |  |

We have a team who could compete in the championships, maybe a few more quality signings.
If teams like Luton, Rotherham etc can be competitive, then so can we.

Where do you think we will finish? From what I've seen this season, Peterborough look a class side as do charlton who look brilliant. Sunderland look well organised and there are a few other good sides.

On league form that would be 9 points from 17 matches. And these are teams that are generally not good enough to be in the Championship. We are currently much further than a few shrewd signings away from being a solid Championship team (much as I would like that to be true). That is worse form than we had when Keane or Jewell went. I would hazard a guess it is far worse than Hurst left us too. Even more worrying the trend is getting worse rather than better. We are currently on a 8-match losing streak and a 14-match winless streak when looking at these sides.
EDIT: Before researching this I hadn't appreciated just how bad this is. We are a million miles away from being even a struggling Championship side right now and that is utterly depressing. We can't even explain away most of those results with the lack of Norwood, Downes and KVY. [Post edited 5 Nov 2020 22:03]
