Some firms have. I know SSE have done this, Barclays on the other hand just fired all their contractors and HSBC offered them a 20% pay cut + a move inside IR35 to full PAYE tax.... that's not viable if you have to travel 150 miles to work and pay for a hotel for the week out of your own pocket (plus obviously not seeing your family). They've done their best to destroy a nice little money spinner for a lot of people because, of course, the tories hate the idea of the plebs being able to drag themselves out of poverty, don't they? |
Just for balance, Labour probably weren't going to keep the IR35 rules either if they won the election. It was going to happen regardless at some point whoever won.
