Should have gotten Warnock 09:32 - Nov 25 with 2387 viewsMonkeyAlan

He was almost in the door again last Xmas by all accounts. May even have gotten us up last season if he had taken over. Too late now, will probably get Middlesbrough in the playoffs at least. We need a manager who is going to toughen up these lightweight players we have. Pulis was another, again, too late now. Maybe not pretty football but would do what is needed. Ironically, it would have been just the job for Mick. Joey Barton would be a good candidate. We are way too soft as a football team. Those players need toughening up. They have it way to cushy on half decent wages and a few of the older ones have to much sway in how things go on. That needs to change to. There is room for only one manager, some of those softies need to realize that.

That difference from when he first came here is stark. Not greatly dissimilar to his time at Villa I think. The enthusiasm and the desire to improve the whole club not just the first team are no longer visible.

The London supporters forum last January, during a decent month, he was quiet early on and became more enthusiastic as it went on. At the end of it I could see how he could be a good motivator but the slow start sticks in my mind too.

He seems to chuck people under the bus when the problems arise, and tries whatever it takes to defelct any blame away from himself

But, he looks a shell of the man that came in, like he is waiting to be sacked.

GOne even is the vim at the start of the season where he at least seemed to enjoy being a bit of a nob and harsh on people

That comment last night "We're awful with two upfront" tells me he desperately wants to be sacked and get the pay off.

Who in their right mind would say such a thing.

Warnock is 'old school' he certainly would be kicking up the ar$e rather than putting an arm around, but when Lambert does that some fans moan. However if you're going with Warnock then why did we let Mick go, he would have been the perfect Manager for the current situation

Here's a leftfield suggestion - tempt Wenger out of retirement, with Dyer learning the ropes as his assistant!

Trust the process. Trust Phil.

He does seem desperate to get the axe.

All a bit too 'Jose Mournho - Man Utd' for my liking.

Agreed, that was a very odd comment. The sort of thing you say about your job when you've had enough.

Trust the process. Trust Phil.

What happened from his first few weeks Joe, he seemed completely up for a challenge of turning the WHOLE club around?

Maybe there is a new extension on the horizon then.

Lambert extends deal until 2028.

You've got me hooked by the way.

The more I see of Danny Cowley on the tinternet, the more I want them here. ASAP, like right now.

Warnock would have been an excellent appointment. To be fair right now, Mick would be an unbelievably good appointment.
