When will Lambert try and take some credit for the kids result? 09:55 - Dec 8 with 900 viewsBluefish

And how?

He has created an environment for the coaches?
He has given the players a pathway?
He has had some chats with the players?
They just want to play for Dortmund too?

When he arrived he said the different age group teams were playing different styles. That had to change. It has. He should take credit. This negativity is exactly what he is talking about. A great result but still a moan.

Indeed. In some of his various ramblings since taking the Town job, Lambert has expressed his disgust at how many things were wrong deep down in the club, without mentioning specifics. Part of this could be the way our youth set up has been organised and if Lambert has been responsible for improving this, then credit to him & it could bear fruit in subsequent years &might be behind Evans giving him a 5 year contract.. Of course, without inside knowledge, hard for us to know exactly what has happened behind the scenes. Naturally, fans will focus more on the immediate performances of the first team.

I do think many will agree what PL is doing in terms of changing the style of play and bringing through the younger players will be good for the future.

The problem is what will our future be if we are sat in League 1 for another season or 2, there needs to be more thoughts on the current squad and the way to get out of this league.

These good youngsters we have brought through will move on and we wont be able to stand in their way.

Weird flex but ok.

You don't help yourself with such sensationalist drivel. I'm not sure if its just TWTD or football fans more generally who feel the need to be so extreme in their views. e.g. player has a bad game 'They should never wear the shirt again'. It's embarrassing.

The short termism versus painful long term rebuild. It's a valid question & if the club does achieve a consistent playing style it would be of great benefit, but part of the problem is trying to reshape the first team squad so that the players are suited to that style.

It was all Evans. His vision is so much greater than ours, we should just sit down, shut up and be careful what we wish for.

In all fairness, the youngsters are still not playing the same style as the first team. There was precious little pointless faffing about at the back followed by a big hoof last night.

Probably because the youngsters are currently under the care of competent coaches who actually coach.

A long term rebuild will be much easier to do if would achieve our short -term aim of getting back into the championship and somehow staying there.

And if we sack That Man.
