This was reported on yesterday.

The issue appears to actually be the French side - their Customs being incredibly slow etc etc

Why would their customs be checking stuff?

We are still in a customs union.

There was a long R4 piece on it yesterday, as there was a wider piece about dock capacity post-brexit and how the Gov aren't properly funding port expansion.

It covered this situation and explained that the current delays are due to stockpiling but the main issues for the delays were the French side and Customs (but it either didn't go into further detail or I can't remember what it was).

I said yesterday, it's absolutely brutal out there. I normally pay £3k for a full truck load of product to get back from southern Europe. Cost £4.5k early December, now there's not a truck in the country without a load on it. Everyone desperately getting product in or out of the UK ahead of 1st Jan, it's absolute carnage. It'll subside once we get through the next few weeks, but it's absolutely mad right now.

Thanks - I'll see if I can find it later then.
