You can cry all you like about the owner or manager 20:00 - Jan 9 with 4322 viewsDinnernotTea

But time and time and time again no one says a single word about Chambers. A complete mess of a leader who dared to act like a 12 year old and put his fingers in his ears to block out outside noise.

Horrible fraud of a man.

Beware of The Ipswich Cabbages

Third tier quality is what we have so good enough for this level. And our players are capable of doing better than to date with semi-competent management, but not necessarily to get out of this league. We have too many players for whom itfc at this level is a comfortable place to be in the twilight of their careers. Semi-competent management might deal with that.

Yeah, I think we see our issues a little differently.

He was miles out of position for the first goal but he's hardly the key reason for the state of the club. He plays one of the least important positions so if he plays badly its less costly. (Unlike over 250 appearences of Cole Skuse doing absolutely zero in the most important position on the field)

I don’t know why you would say Chambers plays in one of the least important positions
Modern football is reliant on full backs getting high up the field, crossing the ball and also getting onto the back stick when the balls crossed from the other side.
Chambers is not up to it that’s why we need young fit players that are good in possession and can actually cross the ball

Chambers isn't a right back. Our manager chose to spend his transfer budget on bringing in a raw, error-prone centre-back from Arsenal when we already had a number of capable CBs at the club rather than bringing in a specialist right--back.

Yeah I agree it's more important than it was, but having a good keeper, centre half, centre mid and centre forward is still more important. Tyrone Mings is probably the most talented player we've had in the past ten years but Murphy scoring 27 was more important to us making the play offs in 14/15. I love an attacking full back but give me a top striker or centre mid any day of the week.

I survived Ipswich 0-0 Burton

These days I would settle for full backs competent at defending, attacking would be a bonus.

We have Kane Vincent Young available and a place will still have to be found in the starting eleven for Luke Chambers. Some things just don't make sense, unless you accept that managers have their first few names on the team sheet and they never change them .. first names undroppables it's Chambers and Judge. This is how Chambers got to play so much out of position when Mick was manager. Picking players on character rather than ability.

My issue is that our current manager has been here over 2 years now and yet the players never look like they've received more than 5 minutes of coaching. Utter shambles, mate.

As always with these disagreements, the truth lies somewhere in between.

Lambert is a tactical & lazy f*ckwit who has somehow tricked his way into a couple of years of work on the back of a clueless and malleable owner and a few thousand muppets who wept at his feet, sang Bob Marley songs and eagerly lapped up some free beer.

Chambers is a a brow-beaten captain & an ageing liability who offers nothing as an on field captain, other than the same resigned look and miserable trudge away from the bulging opposition net.

Both should have been long gone after relegation.

One got player of the season and the other got a juicy contract.

I’d laugh if it was any other club.

KVY isn't yet available and by the time he is he'll have missed nearly half a season again. Signing an actual right back, even on loan, should have been a priority ahead of Chambers playing there whilst we knock the edges off a kid from Arsenal at CB.

What I will say about Chambers is, nobody has played more games for this club without winning anything as he has, I think that says it all really. He's not a great player by any stretch, had a few good seasons under Mick but largely average.

What a pointless statement. Ffs

Given the appalling constraints he’s worked under, I’m not sure what you think he should have won?

Promotion to the PL? ME’s fault he didn’t back MM, not Chambers’ fault.

League Cup? FA Cup? You’re in cloud cuckoo land over either of those.

League 1 promotion? ME’s fault for sticking with PL.

John’s paint job & pizza cup? PL takes that less seriously that MM took the cups.

Ironically, the only thing he has won was a joke. Player of the Season during the relegation season.

I’m no fan of Chambers but I just don’t get your point.

Just to clarify for the dangerous Cult of Luke Chambers that seems to be lingering amongst the fan base. Evans must go, Lambert must go. But if you dare think the captain of the football club shouldn't shoulder some blame for the last 4 years then shame on you.
