If we fail to go up this season and 10:07 - Jan 31 with 547 viewsBluedanW

Let's say the most amazing thing happens, an Arab shiekh buys the club sacks lambert.
What possibly can the sheikh now do?
The salary cap would prevent him from giving the likes of Eddie Howe the job. We can't vrjng in decent players as we have to spend at the same level of teams like Northampton despite the enormous gulf in fans.
This is truly the end of dreams of bringing teams from the bottom to the top. There is no point in buying clubs lower than the championship for rich people anymore.
Surely league 1 teams have shot themselves in the foot with this salary cap vote.
This salary cap is the final straw for being an Ipswich fan during lockdown. We are doomed.

They would probably ride rough shod over the cap

bit like plucky little Bournemouth did a few years ago

Ah, the Bournemouth fairy tale. How it will warm the hearts of generations.

It's 106 miles to Portman Road, we've got a full tank of gas, half a round of Port Salut, it's dark... and we're wearing blue tinted sunglasses.

They can run the club well on the allocated budget, exploit the myriad of advantages richer clubs are still going to have and win promotion to a better division with a higher budget allocation?

Says a lot about the club that we're so scared of a slightly more level playing field.

Exactly, and I for one wouldn't give a t0ss - despite being angry that clubs like Bournemouth got away with it years ago.

I agree with the cap in general, but with a link to a clubs turnover, it cannot be right that clubs who get crowds of 15-200000 are limited to the same expenditure as those who get crowds of 3-4000.

That would be true if it were a level playing field, the cap should apply to all the leagues

Well structured and strategically focussed football clubs can prosper and progress, regardless of wider regulations. You just have to be better than the competition.

Look at Brentford.

Unfortunately, we are the polar opposite of this, hence why we continue to head south.

Amen, it is not just about finances it is about vision, setting standards and have ambition.

We have none of those 3 and never have under Evans. If you set standards, you hold every employed by the organisation to them.

It will be a level playing field in the division we are playing in, which is what counts.
