You’re the second to have a gig at Wembley arena as loudest. I don’t get this. I think it’s a sh1t venue with a sh1t sound system. Seen the roses and manics there and rubbish both times.

I saw Prince there and, although I enjoyed the experience of seeing him perform live, it really would have been my last choice of venues for that gig, That said, to be fair on Longers there, I don't know where in the venue he was placed. I was further than I would like from the stage and my surroundings were conservative enough that I was getting looks for smoking some damned fine grass I'd managed to get hold of a few days before. I'm sure that closer to the front no one would have cared.

I put the clash as my wish I’d seen, but I’d have loved to have seen Prince. A fcking legend. I was as far as you can get from the stage when I saw the roses. They were sh1t that night as well until mani vandalised the set at the end. And I had my weed nicked by a bouncer in the way in. Rubbish.

There aren't enough rows to be far enough from the Roses. Sorry. The bouncer probably stole and smoked your weed as punishment for going to see them. The Charlatans on the other hand were great fun and no one took my gear that night at the UEA! [Post edited 1 Feb 2021 1:02]

Clacton. I actually had a Barron Knights single as a kid. They were popular weren't they? Why, why did we used to like such crap?

Seeing the roses is joyous. Saw them in a park in London a few years back, the only downside was the amount of fcking scousers in the zone. The existence of Liverpool is proof there is no god.

I'm not anti-Liverpool by any means, but one news story made me laugh at the time and has stuck with me. Some years ago whilst much of the country was complaining about some latest wave of immigrants making their way into the UK illegally, there was a story that hit the headlines of a chap who had come here hoping for a better life and was arrested sneaking aboard a vessel trying to leave the country after finding himself stranded in Liverpool. I saw ZZ Top at Wembley Arena and was surprised by how good the sound was (having heard that the venue was awful). Worst sound I've ever experienced was Metallica at Earls Court on the St Anger Tour

Leftfield - Brixton Academy .- venue was literally shacking Most seen - lost count but probably Underworld (1994 - recently) or British Sea Power Most surprising - The Pixies @ Benicassim - was just after they got back together and as much as I loved them hated the idea of the reform. Note that I also listed a concert there as my worst, specifically because of the sound. I loved Simple Minds, but the gig at Wembley Arena was shocking. Even more so as I’d seen them previously at MK Bowl which was good. The U2 gig there really was the loudest I’ve heard - it was on the same tour as when their gig in Belgium registered as an earthquake! I was still having problems hearing properly in Uni lectures a couple of days later.

(I just was not in the mood for it despite not having been to a gig for a while, and I was far too drunk - which made one of the roadies taking up to the bar upstairs for a talking to as I was booing so much a bit pointless) Loudest concert: UB40, Cropredy, 2011 Most seen: Either Man or Mariza or Rodrigo y Gabriela or Elephant Sessions Most surprising: Gilbert O'Sullivan, Wickham Festival 2019 Best Gig: Graham Parker and the Rumour, Manor Ballroom Ipswich, 1976 ?
