But how does it feel to lose twice in the big mid table clashes of the season.

I'm sure he's shedding bucketloads of tears for your astute, cutting observations of him.

He clearly thought he was too good for us and held out for a better move, and it didn't work out. It is a little amusing. Did he move downwards? Not necessarily, but he didn't get what he wanted in an upward move

Very good point, very road leads to Lambert.

Garbutt on 22:44 - Feb 6 with 2760 views | tractordownsouth | Think he was a victim of the salary cap. If I remember correctly, he was all set to go to Sunderland but then the cap came in and they pulled out of the deal.

And if we valued him we could have followed those proceedings. Or maybe he or his agent could have made it known he was still available. It does seem a bit amateurish to not be keeping tabs on these goings on though.

I think he was thinking Championship initially, then Sunderland (plus we didn’t think he’d be in league 1 - as Jeera has pointed out.)

It’ll matter not when our own young left back regains full fitness. Tristan Nydam is a very good left back. And if Kenlock continues his current form, we have two very able left backs already at this club,

You are missing the point. We didn’t try and sign him as we (Lambert or Evans) thought he would be playing at a higher level. We didn’t bother.

Agree with you however I was looking at it from Garbutt's point of view. Rumours were that he was on £26k a week at Everton so not exactly skint, so possibly put his family first especially if a championship move wasn't forthcoming.

He took about £7m+ in wages from Everton making half a dozen or so appearances in about a decade. Everything wrong with football this type of situation. I remember him getting released and Ancelotti didn't even know who he was. [Post edited 7 Feb 2021 12:10]

Garbutt on 14:07 - Feb 7 with 1948 views | Tangledupin_Blue | You all leave Garbutt alone; he is doing well. On FM20 Everton released him at the end of season 19/20 so I signed him on a free. Am now up to the end of March in season 20/21 and with six games to go Garbutt is my leading goalscorer with 21, albeit that about six of them were penalties. Am second in the Championship largely thanks to his goals so I won't hear a word against him.
