Having never really taken notice of PL's playing style with his other clubs 18:22 - Feb 7 with 3100 viewsBluearmy71

With the exception of him bringing the scum down here and watching East Anglian derby's when he managed them at their ground on TV, I don't think any of us could not admit as much as it hurts that he did get them playing some really good stuff!

Yesterday for the first time with PL as our manager I saw flashes of how he used to have the scum play against us, I actually saw what he is trying to do,how he really wants us to play, it may well be too late in the day to save his job here, I'm fully aware some say Culverhouse had a great impact on the scum squad as PL's assistant but hand on heart I won't mind watching us play as we did yesterday all the time whilst PL is still here as obviously there should be a progression of understanding each others game therefore progression in how well we play which in turn equates to us being a better side!!

Maybe just maybe things are starting to come together, like I said probably too late for PL given all that has and including some alleged things that have gone on but yesterday was so much better viewing than the last few months, time will tell and we have a tough game Tuesday if it goes ahead, getting even a point there would still be good confidence building for the team.

Steady on - we were playing Blackpool... all will revert to normal service when we get destroyed on Tuesday by Peterborough - who we have now become inferior to in terms of our geographical rivals.

I recall playing Blackburn under Lambert - and for the whole game the 2 cbs stood waiting for a pass out EVERY goal kick from Jason Steele. We had that nullified after about 5 minutes of game time - but they persisted in trying it every goal kick. I recall thinking ‘what the hell are Blackburn doing?!’ But now we have the pleasure of the master tactician at the helm, some things just never change. Rolling out the same dross here years later and STILL not having a clue.

No mate, you just choose to read far too little into things, your attitude towards the club you apparently love over PL being the manager sucks, its childish to the extreme, I'm here for the love of Ipswich Town regardless of who manages them, I haven't been happy with the way we have been managed for sometime now but not supporting the Town in any way shape or form is something I could never do!

You may be right but for my mind Blackpool didn't play too badly yesterday so all in all it was a good win for us!

At moment it's just the start of yet another false dawn and nothing more. I won't be getting too excited yet, given the previous getting-on-for-three-years of failure and general dickishness. We've always been halfway competent flat-track bullies in this division, if we can replicate a similar win against Posh, I'll be astonished.

It could well be, I guess after so many false dawns any glimmer of progression is good though, we've had F.A to smile about recently so make the most of a smile when you get one!!

I can’t get excited by a home win against Blackpool I’m afraid.. especially when losing to Swindon is fresh in my memory.

Lambert is a fraud - and we can’t hide the fact we’re the strongest squad in the league, yet sitting mid table for the second season in a row. It’s not good enough. Simple. Let’s reconvene when Tuesdays game is over and the false dawn of Shamberts tactical genius is exposed yet again.

I've said it before and I'll say it again. If Lambert had been able to buy some cheap beers yesterday there's a fair few here who'd be looking for their old 'Lambo' banners by now.

OK bud, but remember I said I could see flashes of the way he had the scum playing, and I do totally agree that our position given our squad is inadequate to say the least, I'm sure we all feel we should have made a straight return to the Championship given the squad we have.

I don't think you understand that my post is more about the team than PL himself, try to be objective and separate your feeling toward PL and feeling for the team, you may get a better perspective of what I'm saying or at least trying too!!

As a fan I like to think that I have the best interest of the team/club at heart.

And it is in the best interests of the team/club that Lambert is gone as soon as possible.

It’s all about opinions, but I don’t see why any fan would want Lambert to stay and continue his damage. He is not going to change and suddenly become competent and/or not a bellend.

We need Lambert gone, so that the team(currently comprised of nearly 50% loan players) can get better and actually perform to something beyond the sum of its parts.

At which point did I say I wanted PL to stay??

I said I would like to see us play as we did yesterday all the time as we can only become a better side by doing so.

I also said I think its too late for PL.

I'll be honest, I've quite enjoyed not being angry at yet another inept display and being bemused at the apparent willingness from some to forgive Lambert on the strength of one vaguely competent display. It's made for a nice change this weekend.

I don't disagree with you that PL needs to go, thats what you and some of your fellow full of flat out hatred for Lambert that they cut off their nose to spite their face don't seem to understand or just wish to ignore so they can have a pop at others opinions.

As for the loan players as I said yesterday their isn't one of you who would give a fu*k should their help gain us promotion, I'd prefer our own players playing but one thing is for sure we don't have a striker on our books of Parrot's quality or he'd be playing already, no??

Sorry, it's going to take more than one win over a fellow mid-table plodder to convince me that we should be offering full forgiveness.
