Having never really taken notice of PL's playing style with his other clubs 18:22 - Feb 7 with 3099 views | Bluearmy71 | With the exception of him bringing the scum down here and watching East Anglian derby's when he managed them at their ground on TV, I don't think any of us could not admit as much as it hurts that he did get them playing some really good stuff! Yesterday for the first time with PL as our manager I saw flashes of how he used to have the scum play against us, I actually saw what he is trying to do,how he really wants us to play, it may well be too late in the day to save his job here, I'm fully aware some say Culverhouse had a great impact on the scum squad as PL's assistant but hand on heart I won't mind watching us play as we did yesterday all the time whilst PL is still here as obviously there should be a progression of understanding each others game therefore progression in how well we play which in turn equates to us being a better side!! Maybe just maybe things are starting to come together, like I said probably too late for PL given all that has and including some alleged things that have gone on but yesterday was so much better viewing than the last few months, time will tell and we have a tough game Tuesday if it goes ahead, getting even a point there would still be good confidence building for the team.

Having never really taken notice of PL's playing style with his other clubs on 16:47 - Feb 8 with 858 views | BlueForYou | Its gone way too far now. Lambert has totally alienated a huge majority of the support. Cannot see how he can survive here. He's had two dreadful years! No-one wants him anymore! What we all want to see, is a 20+ game unbeaten run & a rampant Town side taking opponents apart, scoring 3+ goals per game as it does so. Do you honestly see this one game leading to that..?? Again I said I saw flashes yesterday of how he had the scum playing, that by no means, means that I want him to stay, I'd just be content to see us play like that all the time and develop into a stronger more together unit that what we have been, its the kind of football I'd like us to play under any manager we have! As for a turn around to the degree your question suggests, I'm sure you know it takes time and investment beyond a league one sides stature for a team to become that good (also a lot of loyalty from good players to stay......and we all know that pretty much all loyalty is lost in the modern game unfortunately) so no I don't see one game leading to that kind of turn around but looking at it with a little perspective of what our play had been like compared to Saturday I think it fair to say there was a marked difference and for me its a very welcome difference, if we keep playing like that then it will turn this lacklustre season around for us, not turn us into world beaters straight away!

Statistics mean nothing at the end of the day, where we finish does and if we keep "IF WE KEEP" playing as we did yesterday I feel confident we will finish much higher that we are at the moment, only time will tell if we finish as high as we all think we we should do but yes I quite agree there have been many false dawns! Until there is no mathematical possibility of us grabbing any position in the top six no matter how unlikely it seems at the moment whether PL is still here (which I doubt) or a new manager comes in there is always hope.

Let’s start by increasing the goals scored stat, currently we are 18th out of 24 at that.

As i said statistics mean absolutely nothing, we score more goals than the opposition we win matches, we don't and we draw or lose, it matters not if the opposition have 95% of the play if we get one more goal than them we get all 3 points!! Statistics are just a side effect of football, its possible (but unlikely) to win every game one nil that would equate to 44 goals for, statically that would be one of the lowest goals scored for around and a team would be placed at/around the bottom of a stat point of view when team has won the league! I pay statistics no mind!! | | | | Login to get fewer ads

Stats mean exactly what they mean, and in that regard there’s nothing wrong with them at all. The problem is when people try to interpret or extrapolate them to mean something else.

My opinion will always differ to yours regarding statistics, my reply to you was probably the only time I have used them as even an example, extrapolated or used for something else I still pay them no mind bud!! Lets hope tomorrow night if it is given the go ahead that for me we score more than Posh and for you we statistically improve enough to do so ;)
Having never really taken notice of PL's playing style with his other clubs on 08:33 - Feb 9 with 723 views | itfcjoe | Not for me, Norwich played a high tempo and powerful game - they were full of big strong runners and players and let Hoolahan knit it together in the final third. This isn't it, this is some form of pass, pass, pass style which doesn't lead to much unless the opposition has to come out at us - we are so reliant on scoring the first goal as unless that happens we don't have a style that gets us back into games

Having never really taken notice of PL's playing style with his other clubs on 08:38 - Feb 9 with 713 views | patrickswell | I don’tknow about playing style but we’ve missed the relentlessness of Lambert’s Norwich sides. They often specialised in late winners and off the top of my head, I can only remember the late goals to save a point at Peterborough and beat Wimbledon last season plus Lankester’s late winner vs Shrewsbury.

Again the key word I used is flashes, not for one minute did I suggest we were full on the way he had the scum playing, that sh!t doesn't happen overnight obviously, some of the movement off the ball and on occasions the speed we attacked simply gave me flashes of it, surely reading my post in full its not that hard to see what I mean! I too question what our playing style is under PL but that doesn't mean I can't see some of the things he tries to do and it reminds me of play I have seen before!

But it's a totally different style, they were direct, fast and powerful

I'm commenting on his response to the game, not the game. You're looking for an argument early today, Dollers.

His whole point is that he saw flashes of how the scum used to play and you said you think he might be reading too much into it. I'm just not sure how you can make that assertion given you didn't watch the game. Maybe if you'd watched it you'd agree there were such flashes. Doesn't mean Lambert's suddenly become clued up or should stay, and the OP hasn't suggested he should.

Do you also ignore the stat which says we are 10th in Division 3? Stats dont lie & point to where we are failing & succeeding. Only a fool would ignore them. Are you Paul Lambert? No team is ever going to win each game throughout a long tough season 1-0, that's never conceeding a single goal..!! Has any team ever done that? I do admire your dogmatism.
