As long as people are impartial on air, then they can do what they like in their spare time as far as I'm concerned. It's the same as Andrew Neil - I disagree with almost all of his personal views but on the BBC he gave an equal grilling to both sides. However, it remains to be seen whether or not GB News will adopt this approach. |

100% agree with you on that. It applies to both sides of the argument far left / far right. I don't expect to see them walking around in white pointy hoods with burning crosses but I do expect it to appeal massively to the Nigel Farage brigade. It will be like catnip for these folks though. |  |

That’s the issue really, people assuming racism is something you either are/aren’t on self-declaration and not an institutional sliding scale all of us are somewhat guilty (if not beneficiaries) of. It’s a task of privilege reflection and owning your sh1t, something many don’t want to do as self-critique and having your world views challenged as wrong isn’t easy. Not a million miles off TWTD and vegan arguments 4-5 years ago.
Just because one isn’t signing up to the NF or burning crosses doesn’t mean they aren’t racist. | |
