Easing Lockdown - the 4 tests on 08:51 - Feb 22 by Herbivore | I imagine the thinking is that once people can officially meet in groups outdoors that will inevitably spill over into some of those people thinking it's okay to meet indoors. I think that'll especially be the case if gardens are included in outdoor socialising (which looks to be the case) as people will just go indoors if it gets cold or the weather turns, or if they just need a piss. |
Yep very much this, going inside is inevitable for any garden socialising as you say, as unless the visit is brief someone will need the toilet at some point. And once people are popping in to use the toilet it isn’t really a leap to then think ‘oh I’ll just grab a beer’ etc. And as you say, a sudden downpour and it will be inside anyway ‘just while the rain passes’ Tbh I think the rules have been set knowing they’ll be stretched all along - eg. 1 outdoor exercise per day to focus people on the idea that they shouldn’t be going out constantly but knowing that it wouldn’t be stuck to religiously

A group of vaccinated people are not going to think twice about getting together and drinking sensibly and distanced in gardens, and then using the loo if needed. And why not? Even rigid guidance followers are starting to question the point of remaining heavily locked down after the priority groups are vaccinated, so I expect the smell of Easter bbqs if the weathers good...

Easing Lockdown - the 4 tests on 08:55 - Feb 22 by ElderGrizzly | Family indoors is apparently June (ish) |
Want to tell that to the idiots next door - got the father in law in here, pretending to "work" on something in the house, no mask on, and shouting. Yet I cannot even have my parents come to the door for a chat?

Easing Lockdown - the 4 tests on 09:00 - Feb 22 by ElderGrizzly | From 29th March (or Easter), the local travel restriction will be lifted too. Will allow families to meet in gardens at least who are spread across the country. |
I will be off on the 30th to cycle a lap of the Peak District.

Easing Lockdown - the 4 tests on 23:15 - Feb 21 by ElderGrizzly | Indeed. Shame... The *only* criticism appears to be all kids back at once. That will need the testing regime, allegedly to be done at home, to be spot on. Putting families and education first is very un-Tory |
Think I read somewhere that they would let individual head teachers stagger returns if they felt that was necessary. Got a meeting first so will look that up when I get out 😀 It’s in the Telegraph, “It is hoped that every child could be tested for coronavirus before their return, with schools given the freedom to choose whether to stagger the initial return” suspect most head teachers will stagger returns. We understood it was option to stagger in locations where there was still a higher prevalence of Covid?

Wife who is a teacher understands it to be the head teachers choice, she will find out more tomorrow when her management have had a chance to see the documents for real ( her 6th form where she teaches is in a current high area but has students from around 6 different areas coming in ).
