Scapegoat Roulette - Chambers Edition 16:39 - Apr 2 with 735 views | wkj | Started fairly well at the beginning of the season, but I think it is fair to say his body is betraying his ability now. I wish him well, and want to see him hit 10 years here, but his time as a first team regular is surely over now.

Doz has had a terrible game today - but people are questioning his mentality and painting him with a "big man ego" (Chat room) which is WAY over the top. The lad is nothing but humble, however - he does need to show more than he is. [Post edited 2 Apr 2021 16:44]

Lad's in desperate need of some proper coaching and a team set-up that suits his game. He needs a Matt Holland. [Post edited 2 Apr 2021 16:48]

Exactly. He's playing as the only "defensive" midfielder with Judge and Bishop given the freedom to roam. He made a mistake but he's also the only player the defence can actually pass to as nobody else offers themselves. I fear this is a bit to subtle for a few though. It's not a free pass, he needs to improve, it's just context. SB [Post edited 2 Apr 2021 16:50]

Indeed - in some ways I am glad we're not able to watch football - the numbskulls would be shredding his confidence if we were there.

That doesn't really have anything to do with what I posted. Once again, context is important. SB | | | | Login to get fewer ads

You were trying to make out I can’t see what he does in a game Don’t worry, I can

Not really. Perhaps go and read it again. Either way it doesn't explain your original reply. SB [Post edited 2 Apr 2021 16:55]

I think it is fair to say we should blame him for today's performance.

Both - Blame Phil while we're at it too. Sat there with his pencil and paper doing sod all else on the pitch. [Post edited 2 Apr 2021 17:08]

Very good analysis but the context angle will be lost on many

Some decent coaching might help. He’s the type of player that’d really benefit from it. I’m reminded, albeit at a totally different level, of Raheem Stirling in that in his early years I thought him ineffectual and a waste of a shirt. Talent - so what if you can’t do anything with it. Then through good coaching, hard work and experience he became a really hurtful player. It may be with some of these players that in a proper professional environment, in a proper team with half way decent coaching some of them might show a lot more. That’s my hope, anyway.
