Here's a bit of a leftfield suggestion 11:27 - Apr 20 with 1650 viewsThe_Flashing_Smile

Luke Chambers as a fitness coach? He's one of very few ITFC players who rarely gets injured (and even when he does he soldiers on regardless). I appreciate this may just be the way he's built, but with so many football coaches at or joining the club, wouldn't he serve us better in this area in some capacity (if moving away from playing). I'd imagine he knows a thing or two about correct diet as well.

He already does a lot of good work mentoring the kids, so if he can get them doing and eating all the right stuff from an early age, his knowledge there could be invaluable in years to come.

Trust the process. Trust Phil.

As I've tried to point out countless times, I'm not saying Chambers is the be all and end all to fitness. I'm saying he might have some expertise in this area. I'm not saying don't employ experts, Chambo will do.

You were making the "left field suggestion" that Chambers could be a candidate for a fitness coach position.

Feel free to correct that, if incorrect.

Others are merely stating that the would prefer a recognised and experienced fitness coach.

By employing Chambers as a fitness coach, you take one spot away from an experienced coach.

If he wishes to use this place to learn, whilst attaining his badges, I'm sure the club can work something out, as they have with many ex players.

You've said it yourself. I said "a fitness coach position" - you said "fitness coach."

I just think he could be useful in the setup.

Trust the process. Trust Phil.

... please explain the difference between a fitness coach and a fitness coach position.

If you believe that incorporates learning to become a fitness coach whilst being at the club, you could have saved a lot of time by agreeing with people and saying that is what you actually meant.

This find a role for Chambers thing is pathetic. Regardless of any personal attributes he is forever associated with the decline of the club, only Evans has been here longer, and the stench of mediocrity pervading the place. We need a clean out and a fresh start.

It's pretty obvious he means an assistant or something.

The problem i'd have with that is what's his speciality? Just being an experienced pro isn't really enough.

Truly impaired.

IF he stays, I would ask him to help the u18s

He has helped alot of them settle in and I believe he has a couple each year who don't have homes to stay at.

Never be afraid to share your thoughts.
