A sentence being thrown around on here today, but it doesn't really mean anything right? It's an age thing depending on how long you've been supporting. I've been going for 18 years and my Ipswich way is:
- Sleepwalking through seasons, never expecting any good league position
- Crashing out of the cups in the first round
- Fans leaving games booing more often than cheering
- Managers moaning at fans
And for the now relevant ones:
- Fans very quick to turn on social media when the first thing goes the way they didn't want
- Selling the really good academy players before we've properly seen them
The current crop of Downes, Dozzell, Bishop, Kenlock is a one off for me, i've never seen this many playing at the same time and the fact we're in League One is the main reason why this has happened, not because they're all special talents.

Just 3 play offs, 2 of which I barely remember, and a cup win against Arsenal to my cv!
The only positives is that I have it better than those who have been going 1 season later, 2 seasons later, 3 seasons later and 18 seasons later! Hopefully for the sake of the new generation and the old we get something to celebrate again, it's long overdue. | |

I think the phrase is overused and maybe something that has got us in the situation we find ourselves in, a mid table 3rd division club.
I once attended a conference when I worked in the hospitality sector where one of the speakers when talking about successful businesses in that sector used the phrase the business needed to be prepared to “change or die” unfortunately sticking to the “Ipswich way” whatever that is has meant whilst the world has changed around us we haven’t, we are still soft cushy Ipswich and without the Changes that are currently afoot we would be even closer to dying. We are finally changing, maybe a few years late but we are now finally entering the ruthless world of the modern football club |  |

Really....to go from Jim building a squad to Roy keane splashing cash as a massive name.....to Paul jewell getting in a squad of old timers......to Mick McCarthy building a tight knit smaller squad.....to Paul Hurst changing tact to lower league wonders........to Paul Lambert and whatever it was he was trying!

I think Bishop is fair, possibly Kenlock but youth players don't really feel like any managers player to me but that's a personal point
I wasn't really counting Huws or Nydam as not been part of the first team for a long time, I'm disappointed in Nydam going but can understand it, especially alongside what we've seen since. Had forgotten about Huws in fairness, because it was clear he was going.
Whilst Drinan is a Mick signing, he never had a look in under Mick and has just been out on loan forever - plus he's not being released.....!

I'll hazard a guess that Dozzell, Downes and Woolfenden will still be at the club, probably Kenlock as well. But it is a guess no more. My only reasoning for the first three is that there won't be offers that meet our valuations. | | | |
