Wyke, Hawkes & Power all targets from Sunderland... on 17:37 - May 27 by StokieBlue | It's not their choice, he's out of contract. Still doesn't mean it's not nonsense though. SB |
Just can't see him not going to a Championship team.

Wyke, Hawkes & Power all targets from Sunderland... on 17:35 - May 27 by Illinoisblue | This Wyke talk is nonsense, surely? Why would Sunderland sell a 30-goal striker to a divisional rival? |
Am hearing that's the case. Think it's agent talk as part of the negotiation with Sunderland.

Wyke, Hawkes & Power all targets from Sunderland... on 14:05 - May 27 by itfcjoe | There's nothing in the Cambridge link from what I hear, and think Bishop will be one of a number who ends up at a club that finished higher up the pyramid than us last season. If we'd have just let all those out of contract go last season - we'd be in a situation like this: GK Holy Cornell RB Vincent Young LB Kenlock CB Woolfenden Ndaba CMs Nolan Downes Dozzell McGavin AMs Lankester Dobra FWs Norwood Hawkins 14 or so senior players, able to transfer list 4-5 of them and bring in 10 of Cooks guys and that is a massive squad overhaul and a refresh of squad. I think nearly everyone in that list above, a case can be argued has performed well enough to be retained at one point and also there are 4-5 that noone would be worried if we lost. I think the 'not performing under 3 managers' thing is a bit harsh. Hurst was here for a few weeks and did so much damage, Lambert just was a disaster as a manager from about Decemebr 2019 and had checked iut well before the end.....and Cook came into a squad that just didn't have the fitness to play the way he wanted them to. That's not to say we should've kept Chambers, Skuse, Sears, Wilson, etc - an overhaul was needed - but we seem to be using a sledge hammer to crack a nut and doing it such a backwards way in some places. Pre season training starts in 4 weeks - there is so much to do before then. |
I think you need to let this go. Players moving higher up the pyramid doesn't mean they're good enough for us just as signing these 3 Sunderland players who finished higher up the table last season doesn't mean they're a massive upgrade either! They've underperformed for 3 years. Been terrible and lead to the clubs decline that's lead us to our lowest position in years. Theyre not doing it here and as has been said, how long do you give them because they're one of our own?
