Anyone else like alone time? 20:54 - May 30 with 3947 views | Pippin1970 | Family and friends full on last two days in London on break. Gone upstairs whilst everyone socialising as knackered. Accused of being anti social as need a break lol.

Get outside, meet some people and enjoy the company. It's good for the spirits. Hiding away in your pod all day is no good for you or the economy. Live life!

I think you have a misunderstanding of what introverted people are like. It's not about them not liking being outside or even being around people. They don't hide away all day. They can just find being around big groups of people mentally exhausting. I've been there at family gatherings where it's not my family and I'm not that introverted.

Anyone else like alone time? on 12:11 - Jun 1 with 594 views | Bluespeed225 | Love it! Although I’m a married man now, I was happily single for a long time, holidays alone, moved abroad alone for a few months, can sit at a bar alone and actually be happy! Being an only child may help, don’t need to talk if there’s nothing worth saying. and I love a party etc, but nothing beats alone time! Maybe a few posters could learn from this? I unfortunately today’s society allows people too much opportunity to air thoughts they’ve had while alone! I’ve physicallly been ‘scrolling past’ people for years 😂
Anyone else like alone time? on 12:21 - Jun 1 with 583 views | Sparky85 | I think it is so important. I am in a position where I moved in with my partner in between lockdown 1 and 2. I have gone from a very independent life to literally being together 24/7 especially in the lockdown times. It is getting better now but I still crave that time to myself. It got to the point that she would still sit with me whilst I watched the town games, F1 and even when I went for a 5 min wander round the block to stretch my legs. Found this really hard Wasn't an easy conversation mind. Telling a new'ish partner that I didn't want to spend as much time together. But did my best to try and explain it best I could. The world is helping a bit now as we can start to do more and making plans etc. | | | | Login to get fewer ads

Anyone else like alone time? on 22:17 - May 30 by clive_baker | Yeah, I need it. My wife is a social butterfly, I actually had to sit her down once a few years back and have a chat about how many plans we were committing to. I had a runway of about 15 weekends where I didn’t have a single free day. I can’t operate like that, especially after a busy week at work, I need some time to just chill. Since then she’s switched to nhs shift work and we’ve had kids so that’s all gone to pot anyway, but I do need some me time. It’s exhausting being out and about the whole time. |
I had a very similar experience with my Wife, it seemed every weekend was booked up seeing all and sundry, friends from work, college friends, everyday friends, then family blah blah blah, it was getting to the stage where I was getting quite angry and down by it all and we had words. Like you, since having kids it has gone full circle to the point where she tries to swerve as much as possible, even if she does have a meet up, due to our kids, I can just say I'll stay at home with the children whilst she goes off, works really well as I haven't seen the majority of her friends for 5 years now. Loving life!
