Ipswich are very close to signing young Colchester midfielder Noah Childers. The 20 year old attacking midfielder will sign a five year deal this week.

Ah, the days when some idiot would make up a rumour on there and then post on here that they had 'seen' it.

The more things change, etc etc.

lest we forget some idiot would make up a rumour on there and then post on here that they had 'seen' it, and then a local jorno (**deckchair**) would ask the manager about said link in a press conference

TWTDs!!

That was the site I said we had held talks with Guillermo Ochoa who was a free agent and had starred for Mexico at the 2014 World Cup and some div posted it on here like ‘could be made up but apparently...’.

Just because I don't care doesn't mean I don't understand.

i thought Bully got Deckchair to ring up Paul Jewell and ask him if Wigan were signing Ian Westlake purely off here.

DDD's live webchats were entertaining too.

yes you may be right there

The one I remember was a link which Cotty came up with about two Spanish kids from the Real Madrid youth team which had been recommended by Pablo

DDD asked Jim about them and Jim gave a rather rude reply

Didn't he stop doing them in the end?

What about CLUBCALL - the premium phone line which proceeded internet days...?!?!

There used to be this dramatic musical into - and then a scripted - 'Welcome to Clubcall, home of Portman Road and Ipswich town News' Or something similar... The intro lasted a good 30 seconds at about £1.80 per minute - before the 'reporter' then started reading very, very slowly and with gaps - any loose rumours relating to the club..

I remember being so keen to keep up with any news that I used to phone it about 3 x a week for about 5 minutes. What a flashback....!
