Never really saw what people took exception to with Asa, he always seemed harmless enough. Had a bit of the Dolly about him.

Bentley was a jeb end though.

Since about '97 I think.

Although I was posting stuff for several centuries before that, on the 'build it and they will come' basis.

I think Asa's biggest error was putting himself out there to be shot at by all the promotion of his music.

But then if you make music you want to put it out there and get people to listen to it, so understandable that he did so.

Yeah, probably true, and he seemed quite sensitive about it, even with polite feedback at times. But I do think some people were way OTT with him, which I guess is all too easy when one half of the equation is sitting behind an anonymous profile and he wasn't.

I only starting moaning about football posts on the general section because of the self-righteous protests from 'football only' posters when somebody inadvertently puts a general post in the footy section.

Don't take the spelling/grammar corrections too seriously either.

Thought I may as well return then, if nothing else to take the p*ss out of myself before the rest of you do! Lol.

Still read the forum but gave up writing music about 6 years back. Broke a load of fingers playing football and that was the guitar playing done. Which one of you made that wish!

The management game ... has been crawling towards a conclusion for about 4 years. Still not abandoned but had other things going on that took greater priority.

In terms of my time on TWTD what 10 years or so ago now ... I did take things a bit too seriously. I was a musician trying to get to whatever the limit of my ceiling was, which turned out to be playing some stuff I’d written to some reasonably sized audiences. That was about as far as I’d have gone no doubt.

Some people liked my music, some didn’t. It seemed to become cool online around the same time for the anonymous to just have a pop at anyone and be abusive and I was a pretty easy target as I was heavily promoting my music any way I could.

Had no issue with anyone thinking I wasn’t very good but at the same time my old gigging buddy Ed took off big time (where is he these days?) and I didn’t really appreciate the relentless abuse I was getting for a what I was - an average local musician. I was probably a bit of a tool in retaliation in hindsight!

Now for the cheese question.

He got shot down a lot regarding his dislike of evans... which to be fair probably wasn’t to far off the mark, wasn’t his dad in the paper throwing a wobbly once?

I’d forgot all about that.

My Dad got some stick as he knew a journalist and was contacted by him for a piece about concerns at the club, which turned into another story and half his ‘quotes’ were not even things he’d said - including the whole ‘people call me Mr Ipswich stuff’ that was also something thrown at me lol.

I wouldn’t say it was that thick back then but I was still a young man, going through a messy break up at the time and being battered on here daily.

This place certainly toughened me up a bit and gave me a bit of perspective! The forum of hard knocks!
