By all means get rid of the Chambers, Skuse, Judge and all the other older players but getting rid of the likes of Lankester, Downes and any player under 22 is ridiculous. Even if these players don’t suit PC style of play, they are young enough to adapt roles/position. We have a famous and proud history of bleeding fresh young talent and its under threat, I don’t like it. |  |

I'm sceptical that all is going brilliantly with our recruitment, but with regard to "blooding fresh young talent" I think it's worth defending Cook a bit.
The situation we've had over the past 2 years, where we've had 11 academy players appear in a league match in one season, is basically unprecedented. If we ended up with any 2 of Woolfenden, Downes, Dobra, El Mizouni and Ndaba involved next year, that would be about normal for most of the time I've been watching the club. Maybe that's an indicator that the standard for making our first team has dropped? Jack had a fair bit of work to do to be a top end League 1 player and not everyone can do that work here. |  |

In the end JL hasn't pushed on since his injury, he looked amazing before that and very mediocre since. Hopefully he will do well and we have first refusal or a sell on clause.
