Agreed. The bookies odds on Rotherham and Wycombe compared to us, Sunderland and Sheffield Wednesday were very strange. Wycombe were five minutes from staying up! |
Not particularly? Wycombe and Rotherham have smaller budgets, which they'd have to out-perform to finish top 2. You can bet on them defying financial gravity year after year, but at some point you're going to be wrong. |  |

To be honest , I’m not over impressed by cook , he came in last year one point off the play offs with the majority of games left against teams below us , people will say yeah the players were no good , but lambert who was crap got us to one point off of top 6 , cook took us down with an easier run in , also one thing which I find unforgivable is the way cook gave upon the play offs with about 8 games to go , what I mean by this is , he would not play judge anymore even though he was one of our best performers , to me giving up on the play offs is unforgivable , also I have seen no tactical nous from cook to change a game from losing into winning , yes we will have a run of games where we win and people will say well done cook , to me at the moment it’s like the lambert can’t remember his assistants name but maybe the success behind cook was Richardson , so expectations , well maybe cook gets found out by December and is replaced , maybe I am wrong and we go up , let’s see |  | | |

Hopes: Win the league, obviously.
Expectation: top 6
Will be highly disappointed if we haven't won any games by the end of the month. Will also be very surprised if that's the case. But I wouldn't be panicking either if it proves to be the case.
I see no reason why we can't have a good season and if a settled side playing in a settled style emerges, that should be the case given the resources available. I admit I know next to búgger all about any of the players brought in but the consensus view seems to be that they should be good enough to perform at the top end of this league and that Cook should be good enough to manage them. I'd expect this 'gelling' of the team to be in place within a month to 6 weeks. I think that's reasonable, perhaps a little generous. Equally I don't expect miracles this season given what we've dealt with for the last 10+ years either so I'm not asking for all-comers to be thrashed every week either so If we do have a pretty good season but happen to fall just short in the play-offs, I would be inclined to give Cook another season too. |  | | |

I have no real expectation of what place we will finish but I am confident we won't go down, I'm just gonna enjoy the ride with this newly assembled team and see where it goes!!

Expectation - we need to be getting a minimum of 85 points and hoping for the best.
If we get 88 points, finish 3rd and lose in the play offs then obviously disappointing but will mean we've had a very good season and won lots of games
If we finish 5th with 76 points and lose then it's a massive difference for me as we need to have stayed in automatic contention.
With regards to the 'gelling' time we need to be rolling at a minimum of 1.5 points per game to ensure there is enough capacity to hit the higher numbers needed at the end of the season - so minimum for me from first 8 games would be 12 points (3 wins, 3 draws, 2 defeats) or from 10 games 15 points (4 wins, 3 draws, 3 defeats)
Start falling much behind that and the season we as fans should demand starts becoming out of reach |  |
