How can a 3k run be so hard? on 15:37 - Aug 24 with 471 views | Ryorry | Consider yourself lucky and fit! I've worked up from 50m (metres, not miles!) 18 months ago to 220m now, & that's on a slight downward slope. In my defence, am 70-something w. spinal problems & often wearing wellies while I run! One really interesting & unexpected benefit is that the frequent cramp I used to get in my legs (both day & night) has greatly diminished as a result. I didn't tie the two things together till someone on twitter said gentle jogging disperses the lactic acid we all have swishing around in our systems.

How can a 3k run be so hard? on 20:16 - Aug 23 by ADStephenson | Slow miles are better than no miles (or km - the educated choice of distance measurement ). I used to run a lot and competitively but have had about two years off now due to chronic Achilles tendonitis. I'm jealous of anyone who can get out and do anything and sadly, times that used to be warm up pace for me now seem out of my reach. Keep it up and you'll both improve, and want to keep it up to see how much further and/or faster you can run. |
I do a bit of triathlon and have just upgraded to a half ironman in a few weeks. I have had similar issues with tendonitis and shock wave therapy seems to have really helped. Have you had a physio look at it?

Yes, quite clear that the Masai guide tells that to all the tourists, in the hope that, by the time they realise he's cleared off, he has a significant start on them.

I've had 6 session of acupuncture on it. Got 4 to go. My physio did say I could try shockwave if I wanted but I'd have to go to a different physio as they don't offer it. It's definitely healing, but after 4 years of abuse, I'm not expecting it to be instant. I've not run a single km since May, but should be good to start up again later this week.

Which 70.3 are you going for? Bolton? I've done 4 now I think. Cracking event.
