I hope we never have this turnover of players ever again 18:42 - Aug 31 with 954 viewsDarth_Koont

Don’t get me wrong – plenty of exciting players and not too upset about many of those who have left.

But this transfer window is a brutal sign of previous failure. Remains to be seen if Cook has gone too far and thrown the baby out with the bath water – and barely a trace of our Academy players left is disappointing – but what a testament to wasted years moving in the wrong direction.

Why would we want dirty bath water?

No idea if the above about dirty bath water even works. But you get my point :)

I agree. It is all very sobering to realise we were watching such dross without really ever dealing with the issue. Players being told they were better than they were. Fans told that we had a great young talent pool. ME really was the pits. Sleepy Suffolk swallowed it all. Never again eh boys and girls?

Yeah very true, it’s a crushing indictment of the way the club has been mismanaged for so long, especially when coupled with so many off field changes as well. Hopefully we’re on track to sorting ourselves out and getting back on the right path and we never end up needing a complete overhaul of every aspect of the club ever again.

It’s bittersweet though. We never capitalized on having certain good enough players and good enough youths – certainly after Mick left it’s been disastrous.

I don’t believe for a minute football success is about gutting a squad and starting again. And I’m slightly worried this season needs a following wind if we’re going to challenge at the top. If things go our way, of course we now have the quality to go all the way.

But it’s been a lack of momentum and confidence that have been our underlying problem for the past 20 years.

Criminal mismanagement from Evans. Hard to fathom, precisely, what his plan was.

After Keane I think there wasn't any.

Sort of gave Magic a chance....then Keane....disaster and that was it.

It's all gone downhill from the days where we actually only needed a few players to help take us up to having 4 teams in the club, no structure, no direction, unhappy players, too comfortable players, old players, etc etc

I think a club reset was needed personally, if you're going to gut it and start again as a club behind the scenes, why not with all 3 playing squads. You can then all follow the same direction.
