If cars were simpler.... on 18:37 - Sep 6 by J2BLUE | Meaningless stat. How many car journeys are equivalent to a flight to Argentina (sorry but it's obligatory)? |
Additionally meaningless because it's not known how many screaming toddlers were in the back, or elderly/frail people unable to walk even a few hundred yards, or large parcels, or weekly shops of 4+ boxes, or tradespeople carrying heavy equipment ...

If cars were simpler.... on 11:41 - Sep 6 by LeBlue | Had exactly the same issue with my VW Touareg. Three visits to the robbing dealership and £950 later, its now sorted. |
We have had this happen on numerous VW transporters. We buy new at work... we have had tons of ad blue issues. Mainly it’s the ad blue tanking claiming it’s empty when it’s full. Best cars at the moment are early 200’s diesels VAG’s. Cheap as chips and run for ever.

If cars were simpler.... on 11:42 - Sep 6 by Ryorry | Err - dunno if you're jesting, but this has nothing to do with ICE & everything to do with being able to wind down your windows manually as in pre-digital days - unlike digital car electronic buttons, which will not work unless electronic key in place & electrical system functioning! |
You'd have to whip the headrest out and break the window if the electrics stop working

So best to keep a petrol chain saw handy on the passenger seat ready to override the electrics...and create an interesting insurance claim in the process.

As it happens, I still carry a "window-breaker" tool that I had in the 1980s-90s which also has a seatbelt-cutter on the other end - looks like a slightly enlarged spanner. Not sure if it would do the job on modern toughened glass tho! Anyway, last laugh maybe to us unreconstructed old mechanicals fans. On 'Wake Up to Money' this a.m. (R5l 5-6am), the German 'Mobility' show (formerly Motor Show) had industry people commenting on the global shortage of chips, which means that supplies of same to car manufacturers is being very seriously affected - and this may continue long term into 2023. Mostly due to Covid - severe outbreak in Malaysia where many chip manufacturers are based; and global increase in demand cos ppl locked down have been turning to new digital toys to escape boredom.
