May not be ‘new’ to everyone, but Kate Tempest is a very talented poet/musician who writes about some serious stuff that gets you thinking. The album ‘let them eat Chaos’ is an incredibly intricate woven story across the 13 tracks

Not that I know much about his music, Sixto Rodriguez would be an interesting shout.
He is massive in South Africa and he never knew it for years and years. In fact he is one of the biggest selling artists in SA but he was non the wiser and lived hand to mouth in USA working as a labourer.
There is a brilliant film about it, Netflix I think. Very moving!

Cold Fact is an excellent album, Dylanesque without the preaching, with a bit of Hendrix thrown in.
It's probably the album I've listened to most over the last couple of years.

I'd recommend having a look at Charles Bradley, soul of America. Amazing singer that didn't find fame until v late in life, discovered as a James Brown impersonator but took years for him to even do that as he was toon shy to sing.
