As an example Germany deploy their version of furlough during things like an economic crisis, it has been in place since last century.

Rishi didn’t have much of a choice, would have looked pretty poor if states in EU and US were doing some form of furlough, and the U.K. didn’t.

I don't think Germany's furlough scheme was 80% of full pay.
My German relatives were quite surprised how generous this was when I mentioned this to them last year (I was on it for 6 weeks)

No, that's exactly what you implied.

Not at all. I am totally exasperated with all levels of politics, all parties and what they stand for.

My implications were that politics and political parties have become an utter joke. I have no time for any, regardless of the party or leader.

Nope and I’m a lifelong conservative who voted for Brexit.

My beef?

The total disregard for individual liberty “to keep us all safe”
Going all in with Cop26 and Net Zero bo11ocks.
Taxes going up, though not by enough to cover insane levels of spending.
Weak on crime. Weak on border security.

It’s the most left wing government since the 70s. I may as well have voted for Corbyn.

Unfortunately the opposition have largely egged the Tories on or claimed ‘it’s not enough’ - so I have nowhere to turn. Although Lib Dem’s did impress with their opposition to vaccine passports, first genuinely liberal policy I recall from them.

Wow. Imagine thinking that an openly bigoted, corrupt, vindictive and incompetent government isn't bigoted, corrupt, vindictive and incompetent ENOUGH.

I'm one of the people who was blamed for getting Paul Cook sacked. PM for the full post.
