Cook has to go on 20:43 - Nov 20 with 1705 views | BudapestByBlimp | Well done, Cook will go at some point and you can claim you called it way back but he's staying for a while yet. That was a decent, professional performance for the most part today - frustrating result no doubt - but we controlled the game. Looked a little ponderous at times, still think we look to turn back too quickly and too often.

Cook has to go on 03:13 - Nov 21 with 1121 views | boncho1977 | I agree and why is there so much love for Paul Cook on this forum and if anyone says anything negative about him - they get abuse or get called a budgie Let’s face facts the guy took over when we were on the brink of the play offs and mucked that up. He then decided to change the whole squad, now i’m not saying this was a wrong decision however why should this buy him more time, Yes we do play good football but we are also so predictable, with the 4231 which doesn’t work as our 2 full backs are not pure attacking full backs. Also we keep pumping the ball to Bonne about 50 times however he isolated. Is it because he seems a nice guy waving to the crowd and at half time walks on with his coffee or is it his post game interview when his voice changes. The problem is as a club we have been use to mediocrity for the past 20 years. This season we have spent circa 5 mil on players on big wages and we should be in the play offs at least. But because we have been so bad for such a long time, we are all ok with it. Look at the table we are closer to the bottom on points than the top but everyone is buying into the team are gelling and we score goals. We need to be ruthless and actually do something about it. Did you read the interview on twtd where Cook said jeffers is in charge of defensive set pieces, absolute madness an ex striker working with defenders. The Americans said we will take this league by storm however we are an embarrassment. I know i will get abuse from Paul Cook fan club - however i’m an Ipswich fan who has had enough of league 1 and with the money we have spent, we are not progressing.

I wasn't particularly a big fan of Cook when he joined, but at the time I felt he was probably the best manager we could get (we’re in the 3rd division). I didn’t like the way he treated the players last season. Yes there was clearly a player culture in the dressing room, but while there was still a chance of the play offs, I felt he should have dealt with it differently. We got worse when he joined and he under delivered last season. This season, as we all know, started horrifically, but we had to have the ‘gelling’ period (other teams didn’t need this apparently!). However, we’ve past that period and we’ve still had some poor results and poor performances. We’ve had some good ones too, but probably more bad than good overall. He has under delivered so far this season as well. Cook’s win rate is 30% - that’s worse than Keane, Jewell, MM and Lambert. The 3rd worst in the clubs history. Obviously this could improve (and hopefully will). Cook’s games have been in a lower division as well. It’s massively obvious that he misses Leam Richardson. I do think we’ve gone past the sacking stage now though and probably need to stick with him to the end of the season. I don’t have much faith that we’ll make the play offs. You need consistency in this league and we clearly don’t have that. I also feel that there are at least 6 teams better than us this season.
Cook has to go on 07:56 - Nov 21 with 973 views | Herbivore | People were calling for Lambert to go in 2019/20 and 2020/21 when we were much closer to the top 6 than this and with a squad that everyone agrees was much weaker. I don't think we should bin Cook off just yet but the suggestion that his position shouldn't be in any jeopardy is odd. If we're 10 points plus away from the top 6 come the midway point then there will rightly be serious questions being asked. Let's hope we win our two home games this week to get us back on track. Time? are they still not gelling, getting to know each other? Or is it just plain being coached poorly? You lot will still be saying this in May when we are 25 points off the playoffs. If failure is all you have known then accept the crap, me I demand at least to see a challenge for the top 2 in the 3rd division. We are 10th in this 3rd division, just let that sink in, even Lambert was better than that, this coaching set up is 3rd division from top to bottom. We have not even won 3 games on the trot in nearly the best part of a year. Time for change now, get Mowbray and Venus in.

I agree. It feels like the wrong time. I just can’t see who is out there that could improve things at this stage of the season so we probably have to stick with it, at least until the play offs are gone. Who we go for next is anyone’s guess, but given how Americans operate, I cannot see Cook being here if we are washing about in the middle of the table complaining it’s a tough league in March. If that happens Cook will only have himself to blame. Sadly, we will only make the play offs with a Burley style back to back streak of wins. After 18 games we are what we are. League One mid table fodder - but often in the second half of a season a team emerges from the also rans to challenge, so you never know. It’s up to Cook and the players to step up.
