I don't care if it is, here's mine(in no particular order):
Grace Petrie - Connectivity.
Probably my most played album of all of these, which is no mean feat considering it only came out in October. Great folk-pop tunes with a nice edge.
The Wildhearts - 21st Century Love Songs
It wouldn't be an album of the year list from me without a Ginger Wildheart effort in there somewhere. The Wildhearts continue their post 2019 resurgence with another beast. Not quite as straightforward as 'Renaisance Men' but just as good.
Panopticon - ...and Again Into The Light
An absolutely astonishing piece of black metal art made all the stronger for the eerie Appalacian folk influences stranding all the way through it.
Sam Fender - Seventeen Going Under
I don't like a lot of mainstream guitar music. Probably because I'm old and it doesn't sound like it did in the 90's. Sam, however, sounds quite a lot like Springsteen. So it's all good.
Bruiser Wolf - Dope Game Stupid.
For my thoughts on contemporary hip-hop, see my thoughts on guitar music. This, however is superb. Utterly unique flow with some vaguely old-skool-ish production.
I'm one of the people who was blamed for getting Paul Cook sacked. PM for the full post.

1. The Coral - Coral Island 2. WH Lung - Vanities 3. Bicep - Isles 4. Dry Cleaning - New Long Leg (which contains the single of this and many a year) 5. Squid - Bright Green Field
The Coral's wonderful double album is best listened to on vinyl as it is divided into parts loosely telling the story of an old seaside town with some narration between tracks by the grandad of the brothers in the band.

Another vote for Coral Island here. They are at their absolute peak. Fantastic songwriting but they've managed to retain the sense of curiosity and eye for the odd/eccentric/atmospheric from their younger days. What an underrated band. I love them even more for blowing up their Radio 2 huge crossover career after Magic and Medicine with Nightfreak and the sons of Becker.
