The Premier League... 12:20 - Jan 11 with 4678 viewshoppy

That is its name. It has been since 2007. Why do people STILL call it the 'Premiership' almost 15 years later?

No, that's etched in history... much the same as "They think it's all over... it is now!"

Of course, Wolstenholme actually said, at that point,

"Some people are on the pitch; they think it's all over. It is, now - it's four!"

It annoys me that this is so often misquoted (by omitting the final two words).

Real pet peve of mine on Talksport is when Cundy and Goldstein attack people for saying premiership.
Call it what you want.

I lovd Cundy when he was a player here.

His shameless licking of the corporate bumholes that are Chelsea and the Premiership makes me very sad.

I'm one of the people who was blamed for getting Paul Cook sacked. PM for the full post.

This thread is turning into a bit of a Marathon, which you could have purchased on the way to the ground when we were in the First Division.

We last played in the First Division in 2004.

Sorry, I was just being a pedantic arse.

The fact we play in the third tier which is known as League One really is very silly.

It took me about three years after moving to Australia to realise that when someone asked 'did I support a team in the EPL' they meant the (English) Premier League and were talking about football.

I always used to say that I didn't really follow US sports and would wonder why they give me a blank look!!

Now I say, no I support Ipswich - and pretty much get exactly the same blank look :-(
