For those who think Town fans are a moany bunch 16:23 - Jan 19 with 1376 views | Illinoisblue | Take a look at this Chelsea thread. Such anger from fans of a team that won the Champions League just a few months ago.

Not only do they have the requisite number of johnny come lately plastic fans that comes with any kind of top flight success but they also have a sizeable continent of old skool thugs and bigots. Mind you, they do take after their club, which is just as dreadful.

Astonishing, really, considering how far we’ve fallen since then. Proof that a lot of fans can’t see further than their own nose.

For those who think Town fans are a moany bunch on 19:21 - Jan 19 with 923 views | Churchman | My buddy who is a proper Chelsea fan going back to the early 70s was moaning today about the loan system and how a Chelsea player was not being played enough by the loanee club. His view was that his club should dictate when that player was played and have financial guarantees and pull backs if that player was not played and developed in accordance with Chelsea’s wishes. He also backed their manager up about fixture congestion and how the big clubs should have preference as to when they played. After the last argument, I chose not to mention the 20+ players on loan, the cornering of all the cash, the Russian scumbag that owns them. I also didn’t mention that I never heard a word about Chelsea from him from the late 70s to the mid 90s. Oh the sense of entitlement. Jeez, good thing he’s my best buddy and sort of sometimes know when to let him rant on.

and I remember a phone in for Town fans to Sir Bobby in the late 70's on Radio Orwell during a dodgy set of form we were going through. The slating he got on that phone in was unbelievable...

Yes, that did happen. I particularly remember when we lost a couple of home games in successive weeks 2-1 to Liverpool and Arsenal and were poor than the scores, the unhappiness in and out of the ground was considerable. However, there was not the astronomic, nauseating level of entitlement you see from the current collection of Chelsea supporters. I grin when I hear them sang in remembering the miserable 15000 crowd in the late 70s when we won there 3-2 with ease. Barbed wire, broken bricks, filth and a view a mile from the pitch [Post edited 20 Jan 2022 7:20]

Old Stamford Bridge was properly, properly crap. Some old grounds were crap, but had charm with it - like Filbert St, where you had to go into the away end through the front room of a terraced house (Kenilworth Rd is still the same, for that matter) Not Stamford Bridge, though. Like watching football from the Sackers shop floor. It's just generic plastic crap now.

A few years ago my employers were using one of their function rooms for something and I had to go a couple of times. As I approached, I was greeted with a sweet waft of garbage and a rude bloke on the gate. The room itself was dirty with stained ceiling tiles, filthy cups and dishwater coffee along with water on the table that had probably come from the lavatories. I bet they charged a fortune for that room too. I never liked Stamford Bridge. My least favourite ground.

The lyrics are 'Don't blame it on the good times Blame it on the Burley' for a reason.
