Decriminalising and socialising drugs takes the majority of that away.
Then you’re left with side-effects and the extremes of addiction. But genuinely nothing like those same effects for alcohol.
That doesn’t help underlying social deprivation and the problems it causes. But that’s a separate matter – and at least drugs, their use and drug crime become somewhat manageable. |
How does it? Genuine question- surely they’d have to be interned or supervised for any of that to not happen?
Who takes responsibility for needles?
Are the drugs free? Won’t these people still be stealing regardless as they aren’t likely to be in work?

No, alcohol is addictive and a depressant. Legal or illegal. It causes memory loss and violent out-of-character behaviour.
Those are facts on an individual basis. |
To some maybe, but I’ve never become depressed by alcohol or found myself being violent.
In the past I’ve been completely off my face on alcohol- loads of times over the years - but never have I become addicted to it. And, to my knowledge, everyone I’ve known hadn’t become dependent on it or depressed.

It's not a black and white clear cut argument
too many people on both sides unable to see that a 1-10 scale has more than the numbers 1 and 10 available to choose, and if you don't choose the 1 or 10, then you're wrong.
