Priti Patel Pretty Awful 15:56 - Mar 8 with 883 views | OldFart71 | Why is it that Poland can welcome the Ukrainians with open arms. Ready with food, clothing and any other needs these poor people need. Coaches ready to move them and people with little themselves welcoming them into their homes whilst Priti Patel seems incapable of doing anything bar talking a load of waffle but achieving nothing. Ukrainians are turning up at Calais being told to go to Lille and Paris to fill in paperwork to get to the UK. Does Patel think they have a car tucked away in their suitcase or backpack ? She should be sacked for incompetence.
Priti Patel Pretty Awful on 15:58 - Mar 8 with 860 views | Mediocre_Quick | Because she's a useless Tory twot, took pleasure and used evicting immigrants who were here legally as a photo op, she's a vile woman and human being, overturned the Windrush agreement to further her own political agenda and career
Priti Patel Pretty Awful on 16:04 - Mar 8 with 839 views | hype313 | She is an abhorrent human being, someone posted recently that she's the sort of person who would switch someone's life support machine off so she could charge her iPhone, and that sums her up in a nutshell.

Would the same welcome be afforded to Afghans or Syrians? At least Patel is consistent on this, if they're poor and in need they can't come in. Donate a few bags of sand to the nasty party and welcome in, would you like a knighthood?

I do believe that the Ukrainians are or were trying to make their Country more like European Countries and less like Russia. Yolta still seems a bit like you would expect Russia to be. But Odesa is very vibrant and has cafe's and designer shops. Unfortunately looking how Russia is laying to waste many Cities in the Ukraine if they succeed in their objectives many of the freedoms and the thinking the Ukrainians had would soon be lost in the mire of Communism.

It's both isn't it? The culture of hostility towards migrants over the past decade or more is so embedded in the Home Office from top to bottom that the UK is absolutely incapable of dealing with a humanitarian crises when it arrives. So even if there was the will to take Ukrainian refugees, we don't have the system or staff to implement the action needed.

Yeah, it seems to be both. The policies are certainly designed to be as difficult as possible, but the implementation at these passport centres for example also seems to be a joke. A single private operator seems to be running most of them and is known for trying to extract additional fees from the public by persuading them to sign up for unneeded services. It's seems to be a combination of inhumane values/policies and outsourced operators prioritising profit over basic human needs.
