I believe that will happen but it takes time to both reduce dependency on fossil fuels and find replacements. In theory it should accelerate the uses of alternative energy but we are very tied to oil at the moment.

This kind of theft is fine in the short term for Russia and follows the pattern of the Nazis in WW2 where they stripped countries bare, including starving the local populations in 1944/45.
The problem with it as a policy is that given non-Russian businesses have had their assets seized and Russia has basically legitimised theft on the basis of might is right, how many years will it be after the war is over before doing business with Russia is trusted again?

Fuel, oil, transport are the key to any war. If you can’t move anything around, your army is paralysed. It’s a pity Biden chose not to implement a no fly zone. Add that to technology like HIMARS and Russia would not have achieved what it has.
