The fallout is beginning from Paris 10:14 - May 30 with 7682 views | bluelagos | Interesting sat in Paris about to board the Eurostar home. Chatting to a French passenger who has told me there is increasing pressure in France to investigate the organisation and policing of Saturdays match. There is an acceptance that the Uefa lies and those of some French politicians was untruthful and that many innocent people were assaulted by violent police. Those who chose to tarnish the fans, who go for the "why always LFC?" type comments are increasingly looking like the pathetic prejudiced morons they are. Still, if the cap fits...

There were large numbers of locals forcing their way in. Blaming Liverpool fans is just lazy.

Can you give any context for that? How long had those fans been kettled behind locked gates - an hour? 2? more? And fewer than half of them were wearing red shirts. See also one of the vid clips further down in the replies to that tweet - [Post edited 31 May 2022 10:44]

Bloody Norwich fans. They beat Bayern Munich once so they think they're in the Champions League final.

The French random (which they were) told me that the French media was questioning the official line can calling it out. Their comments to me was based on the French news rather than their own impression. Just to reinforce that, have just seen this. |

Cracking little phone in on LBC about this now with eye witness statements. Sadly the stereotype around Liverpool fans constructed in the aftermath of Hillsborough by The Sun / West York’s Police, etc., has stuck. It’s not just lazy to repeat that stereotype, it’s ignorant. Sure there will have been some twots around, as there always are with football crowds. We have them. Most clubs have them. Most accounts from Paris though point to a catastrophic failure of organisation and rough handed policing.
