He was definitely on the list but I don't think we made a move for him in the end. I think if we firm up our interest in Hirst then we'd have the financial wherewithal to fight off Portsmouth without a doubt. |  | | |

We missed out on Sonny Bradley at the start of last season who was the primary target. It could be argued that had that transfer gone through, Cook would likely have had a better start and we may have had a better season. | | | |

Ladapo is obviously a bit higher profile in terms of his experience and record at this level but Hirst has a significant pedigree and is of the type they want to sign; youngish with the prospect that they can grow and be sold for bigger sums in the future. He was similarly one on the list but I think I'd see him as more in line with what they're looking for than Woodrow. | | | |

Thanks Phil, obviously they will try and spend some time getting more and more players in the box and getting goals from all facets of the pitch, that was our downfall last season once Bonne lost his mojo, there just wasn't the slack behind to cover him.
Hopefully going forward we won't be so reliant on one or two to get our goals. | |
