I couldn't bear seeing any more posts like that that’s why I moved away. It’s a shame as we did have some common ground on some issues but the whole antisemitism issue with him just feels so extreme. But that’s the end of it for me , best left alone and I’m sure he feels the same. |  | |  |

Racism is racism, such a shame that antisemitism seems to be the racism of choice for some sections of society, they openly feel it’s a badge of honour, it seeps in and infects the minds of the vulnerable and impressionable. It’s our moral duty as a nation that we ensure everyone has a safe space no matter what , where or who they are. |

Indeed.
It doesn’t lead anywhere but I think defending myself and others against the most disingenuous accusations and worst smears is still important.

I’m not rehashing this. You’ve repeatedly ignored what I’ve said about the objective truth of these and other issues to maintain the worst interpretation and accusation.
And you’ll continue to do so. But there’s no point in engaging with someone on serious matters when they exhibit such monumental bad faith. | |

My only regret in doing this is that his apologism for racism when coming from those he deems to be on his side of the political argument will now go relatively unchallenged.
One thing I have always been consistent on is to condemn without reservation, any racism that comes from people on my side of the political debate.

I can’t help that. I’ve always tried to lay out the facts that for example the mural isn’t inherently targeting Jews but can be seen as problematic based on other antisemitic tropes. And similarly that despite Willsman talking about a very specific and documented issue with the JLM and links to the Israeli embassy it does echo completely groundless tropes of shadowy influence.
But taking the worst possible bad faith reading of either does nothing for the discussion nor the fight against genuine antisemitism. And I don’t accept for one second that the overall discussion has been approached objectively.
It’s still been a shockingly politicised and weaponised issue where the worst accusations just don’t stand up to an objective view. | |
