Oh the irony on 14:32 - Jul 23 by The_Flashing_Smile | This is a steaming service and an illegal way to use it. I hardly think that's something which would be common knowledge, unless you move in criminal circles or spend all your time on twitter. How did you find out about it out of interest? BTW in most of my question-threads I do already know, I'm just looking for other opinions/options I may have missed. Regardless, it's still a nasty thing to say and I guarantee he wouldn't say it to my face. |

Oh the irony on 14:19 - Jul 23 by BlueStreak | Testers has a point though. I something cannot believe how little you know about anything judging by some of the threads that you start / comment on. Seems like you are successful in your field of work as well which makes it even more astounding. |
I'm not sure the firestick 'extras' is a great example. It's rather niche and hardly something the average person is going to know or care about. I'm still interested no one has answered the original question in the Tweet there. I had an email yesterday asking if the account holder wanted to upgrade to the Q box. I don't have Sky but I use my email address for my old mum and relay anything worthwhile. She has the basic Sky package but I'm guessing this newer box isn't going to bring much to the table for an old lady. If anything, it would probably confuse her I would have thought, but if anyone can offer some info that would be handy.

Perhaps. I don't like being told I'm ignorant out of the blue by a stranger. Guilty as charged. I just think it's so unnecessary. What does it achieve other than giving texters a warm glow that he's somehow got one over on someone else by insulting them? It's not as if I've insulted anyone in this thread and was asking for it.

It would just complicate things for her. My old HD box died so I got Q. It's ok. Less of the classic interface and presented more like Prime now including coming up with programmes for services I don't have like Disney and Netflix. It's just ok really. If she's happy with her current box then it would be a needless complication.

She still presses the wrong buttons on the remote she's had for 10 years so you're probably right! Cheers for that confirmation.

i got the q box .so if your mum watched one programme and there are least 2 other programme's on at the same time she can record the other 2 at the same time she is watching another. you can record 5 different programmes at the same time. highly unlikely i know. there are times i am watching a film and my mrs is taping 2 other programmes at the same time. usually long lost families and a hospital or ambulance documentary all on at the same time. also you can use voice control asking for a channel or a name of something you are interested in. like gardening etc and it will either go to the channel you asked for or show programmes which are on with gardening on

Oh the irony on 18:05 - Jul 23 with 722 views | tractorshark | A lot of illegal streams used to come from Russia so I’m not sure how that falls on people’s moral compass nowadays. Either way, it doesn’t matter how you dress it up, if it’s not legal, it’s illegal. And if you’re deliberately and knowingly receiving something for free that you know should be paid for, then it’s a form of theft. You can justify it how you like and square it with your conscious any way you wish but don’t complain if someone thinks of you as a thief.

While that’s true I would be surprised if there’s many people on here who haven’t watched an illegal stream at some point, whether it be a boxing match or an Ipswich game. There are countless requests for streams on here when we’re on Sky, perhaps even from some of those that are quick to call out the morality and legality of it on this thread.

I would say that’s probably true but I suppose you would class scamming an entire season as probably a bit more severe than a one-off event. But the reality is neither is legal. So it’s up to people what they decide is acceptable or not. I just hate the mock justification that it’s fair game because Sky or whoever are robbing you. Whatever you or I think of Sky is irrelevant, it’s still theft and I guarantee they would see it that way as well. As would you if you paid for your Sky subscription and your neighbour somehow found a way to stream it into their home without your knowledge.

Don’t disagree with any of that. I’ve definitely streamed a few bits in the past but certainly don’t make a habit of it. Don’t feel particularly bad about it myself to be perfectly honest, certainly wouldn’t judge others for it either.
