Great game from Fred today, Deserved a goal for his efforts. Although he didn't really get served up many out and out chances.
Thought him and Chappers had their back line all over the place. Constant pressing, loads of effort in that heat...
Hope people don't judge Fred on goals alone. Huge contribution today.

Exactly this.
A lot like to moan we don't have a 20+ striker.
Mr Ladapo will get his goals but they will be spread out and our "support strikers" will get plenty due to his graft.

Spot on. He's creating space and putting defenders under pressure consistently. Goals will come. He's athletic and mobile - McKenna's type of player.

Yeah you’re on the ball there. Not sure we have created a great chance for the lad yet. He looks like a great addition to me. Not just today

100% agree mate. For me his work rate is his biggest attribute. Pretty sure he'll probably end on about 11 or 12 but his overall contribution is superb.

However, to take us from what i see as a current top 6 side to a top 2 we need an out and out goal scoring striker.

Having heard mick mills on the radio imply theres no one available within range i disagree.

How about someone like ryan hardie which would slso weaken Plymouth, I believe he's in the final year of his contract

Or malik wilks, not getting game time at hull but has proven a goal scorer in league 1 and would be an upgrade on jackson?

Ryan Hardie, yes please.

The fixation on a 20+ goal striker is probably partly to do with some people thinking we play one up top, but we don't really play one up top, we play three, arguably four with Wes, and with Leif and Morsy not far off that in some games.

Freddy's role might look like the spear point that scores the goals, but arguably his role is more to create chances for the others and it might even be fair to say that he's doing his job best if he scores a few LESS than Chappers/Harness/Wes.

All strikers need goals. His will start to come, I really hope he gets one or two asap for his own confidence.

Meanwhile, I hadn’t realised what a player he could be for us. His record spoke volumes, but his running and movement creates so much space for our tens, he shows for balls that don’t exist a la the pass from Harness, and he occupies defenders.

Great performance. Just not falling for him in front of goal at the moment but he's more than justifying his place.

Truly impaired.

alot of thick fans will judge him on goals.

fans that know football, and more importantly, his manager and other players, will fully recognise his worth to this team.

find it pretty disrespectful keep seeing this "20 goal man" thing touted around. we'd miss him so much if he got an injury

We’ll be good again... one day

Sounds like McKenna knew exactly what he was looking for for his preferred system, and the hierarchy went out and got one of the options he wanted, excellent work and Ladapo has looked an inspired signing so far.

Filled the gaps that were showing last year nicely hasn't he?

Some astute signings it seems.
