This summer's transfers... 13:53 - Oct 23 with 1983 views | Funge | ... what we saying, then? Davis - best of the bunch in my eyes. Massive improvement on Thompson/ Penney/ Kenlock. He's going places, hopefully with us. Very good, Davis. Leigh - very similar to Davis, damn shame he's injured. Excellent to have some competition in that position, injuries notwithstanding. Ball - honestly thought he'd be starting alongside Morsy. Credit to Evans for keeping him out. Has looked proper strong and sensible when he's started. Big game for him Tuesday. TJJ - hmmm, technically good, but not quite sure how he fits into the McK system. Not as strong as Ladapo, fast as Jackson, or as savvy as Chaplin/ Harness. Banging goal against Shrews Ahadme - difficult to know, really. Younger, rawer Ladapo? An interesting punt. Keogh - good cover. Not as skilful as Woolf, nor as mobile as him or Ed, but will do a job. It all seems like pretty good business, altho TJJ frustrates me. Certainly need a striker (or 2) in Jan.
This summer's transfers... on 13:58 - Oct 23 with 1930 views | Funge | Missed out Ladapo; looks excellent when he's on it (Bristol Rovers) and a bit bored when he's not (sub vs Wednesday and Derby). Like him, but we need more. Harness- very talented player, great finisher, but drifts in and out a bit. Gave away loads of possession on Friday. Seems to lose concentration sometimes. I am on a train so may well have missed stuff.
This summer's transfers... on 15:17 - Oct 23 with 1723 views | LankHenners | Davis - yeah agree, had a bit of a debut to forget and did play like someone who had only arrived off a plane from Australia a few days beforehand! Has got better and better pretty much every game and is reminding me of Cresswell more and more. Defensively still a bit of work to do but gives a great outlet on the left. Leigh - looks to be a very shrewd free transfer, great motor on him to get up and down, good option for games where we need a bit of extra height, shame he's injured. Ball - looked very tidy and composed when he's played, probably more reliable defensively than Evans but lacks the ability to switch play in the same way, will become very important across this season I feel. TJJ - I like him, always looks positive, asked to do a lot of dropping deep when he plays which perhaps hinders his involvement in the box. Useful squad option but think there's more to come still. Ahadme - shame for him he got injured straight away as was on a bit of form at Burton. Looked a real handful that night against us, although is coming into a completely different style of play which will take time to get used to. Liked his cameo against Bristol Rovers, looked strong and put himself about but as I've said will need to work on playing with a bit more finesse. Keogh - yep, don't think we should be moving away from Woolf/Fridge but a very experienced cover option and it's clear the team are big fans of his off-pitch attributes. Ladapo - works so hard and is a big part of how we play when we play really well, doesn't have the amount of goals he'd have liked but (and I get McKenna likes his bespoke plans for certain games) the first choice no. 9 for me. Harness - find myself not overly convinced by him yet. Has scored with some good finishes and runs hard to press but can be wasteful and doesn't always look after the ball so well. Edwards very close to taking his spot I feel. Camara - can see why you didn't mention (forgot?!) him, can't really say anything yet but excited to see what he can bring.

You missed Harness best attribute, his pressing he really fits this system in that regard, gets through a ton of work.

This summer's transfers... on 15:30 - Oct 23 with 1664 views | Nthsuffolkblue | Broadly agree. Overall, the main thing is that they all fit the system and work well as a team. Collectively they are 20 points better than the team we had last season. Can't really argue with that. The presence of players like Keogh and Ball has helped to lift the level of performance of others who were here last season, I am sure. My main priorities would be a striker who can finish more chances (while still offering what the system demands of them) and a better back-up keeper.

This summer's transfers... on 15:30 - Oct 23 with 1667 views | BigCommon | I don't think we made a single bad signing in the Summer.. Davis looks solid . The one thing he definitely brings, is consistency. Which is a managers dream, from any player. Shame Leigh got injured. There is a risk, imo, that Davis could burn out over a long and heavy season with little rotation. The way he gets up and down the pitch, he puts a lot of yards into each game.. Dom Ball hasn't really put a foot wrong, imo, in any of his appearances. It's good to know that we've got that extra bit of strength in depth in MF this season. He'll be called upon this week. (Camara to come in as well at some point). Keogh is quality, on and off the pitch. TJJ is a youngster learning his trade. He's done well so far. And is holding his own in most games. He's a good option to have, imo. Brings energy and running up top, which compliments our playing style. Think playing him in the slightly deeper role suits him and us in general. As oppose to him playing as an out and out striker. I honestly think he'll blossom as the season progresses. I'm already seeing signs of him , really starting to fit in a gel with the rest of the lads. Which is important, when you think, he's come to a strange environment, at a young age. He's playing with a smile on his face, which is a good sign, imo.. Remember, he's still going to be a bit raw at times. That's why he's out on loan.. We've also been a bit unlucky with the Gassam injury.. A fit Gas would be providing competition for the front man role. And may have been helping to up the levels in that area of the pitch. Shame we haven't had that option. An example... Having signed extra midfielders in Ball and Camara. It's probably kept Morsy and Evans on their toes. Who have both been very consistent performers as a result, perhaps? Especially in Evan's case. Who is playing on a different level to last season imo. The striker subject will role on. I'm in the camp where it doesn't really matter. As long as we are scoring as a team, putting points on the board and on course to hit our target for promotion. Which we are atm... There's a couple of months until the window. No need to start non stories of signing new players. Which, imo, could upset the flow of things. In any case, going by how most of our business was done in the Summer. Anything that needs addressing will be addressed. And quite likely, without fuss.
This summer's transfers... on 15:39 - Oct 23 with 1629 views | Westcountryblue | Davis and Harness will be fantastic players for us over the long term. The rest have a ceiling and will probably require replacing at some point. That said, I think most of the business we have done has been exceptional. It's going to be interesting to see where Camara and Ahadme fit into things when fit and firing on all cylinders.
This summer's transfers... on 15:51 - Oct 23 with 1589 views | franz_tyson | Think we're just shy of that top striker. I'd sacrifice TJJ in January to bring in another striker. TJJ has done OK - but he's not strong enough to lead the line IMO. And TJJ is a loanee so it's straightforward to offload. And Aluko will be back by Jan to cover number 10. Solid summer transfer business. Probably Davis will prove to be the best buy. Prefer Cookie's signings in Morsy, Walton, Chaplin, Burns and maybe Evans though.

This summer's transfers... on 11:26 - Oct 24 with 819 views | Garv | Hate to be negative but I can't get on board with TJJ. His touch that (sort of) set up our goal on Friday night was very nice but moments like that aren't worth all the other stuff in-between.

This summer's transfers... on 11:34 - Oct 24 with 800 views | clive_baker | Agree with all of that. Not taking anything away from him but it was absolutely honking defending by Shrewsbury for that J-J goal it has to be said. I think he's a decent 'wild card' off the bench but I don't want to see him starting games. By and large recruitment was very good in the summer. Camara the other one, yet to get going of course due to injury but should be a valuable player in the 2nd half of the season.
